Mine is When We See Christ. It was sung at my brothers funeral and has meant so much to me since then.

There is power in the blood.. Thats my all time favorite, as it tells of the power we have in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, to live victoriously and say No to all sin. THERE IS WONDERFUL POWER IN THE BLOOD. oh yes. amEN

What a wonderful hymn of triumph for a funeral! I didn't know it, but was able to see and hear it on this link.

I like so many hymns, so I shall just say that the Welsh hymn "O Fryniau Caersalem" is dear to me because it was always sung at family funerals in my family. It was written by a famous Methodist minister named David Charles and the verse we always sang tells of how when we get to heaven our life's journey will at last be seen in perspective as we taste of Heaven's joy and peace. The last family funeral I attended was that of my aunt, and I had to sing that verse on my own because previous attempts to get everyone to join in had proved disastrous and my auntie had wanted it so much. Perhaps I should start training them now for when I die!

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. Particularly the last verse:

Were the whole realm of nature mine
That were a present far too small
Love so amazing, so divine
Demands my love, my life, my all

I am so in love with hymns. I'm young, but fairly conservative. Christian songs of today are all right, but many of them are always talking about getting your blessing or something directly related to personal things. (Not all, don't get me wrong) Most hymns show an unadulterated desire to commit all to Christ, give Him your entire being, love Him always, and seek to worship Him eternally in His kingdom. They are just so pure, so full of love for the Redeemer. I just recently bought an instrumental 3 disc set of hymns. Over 3 hours of them played. I haven't even listened to it all yet!

OM=O!Lord!!
"Asato Maa a Sat Ga maya"= From un-realistic/illusion,take me to Realism.
"Tamaso Maa Jyodhir Gamaya"=from intellectual darkness ,take me to intellectual brightness
"Mrthyor Maa Amrtham Gamaya"= from the vicious cycle of birth and death,take me to Your(God) lotus feet.(Heaven-where You are there Eternally)

"Abide with me" was liked by sri.Mahathma Gandhi very much .Even today after 60 years of independence on the "Beating the Retreat Day--3 rd day from Indian Republic Day (26 th January every year) in Vijay Chowk -before Indian President's Residence,the Indian Army Band plays this song.A beautiful Song!
