The answer to the question is yes. There are some that have said that if you willfully go back to sin then you were never saved. I don't know if that is entirely true. I feel that when we are truly set free from sin, then we have no need to go back to our old ways. We see what we have done as being evil, and do not want to have any part of it. But I do feel that there are sometimes that we will leave the faith to return to our evil ways. Then as Hebrews tells us it is as though we trampled the blood of Christ. I know that true believers can go back to sin, because before the return of the Lord, there will be a great "falling away" in the true church. So it is possible to willingly return to sin once you have been saved, and one would lose their salvation if they did. God Bless

Dear Don,

Take a look at the old testiment. So many times the Israelites fell away from God, they worshiped idols and other Gods, and God was displeased with them and refuse to bless them. Soon after they would see the error of there ways and cry out to God to help them and God would raise up a man among them to get them out of the bondage they were in.

Read Isaiah Chap 1 and Chap 2, Israeael is a blank and a blank and a blank full of Sin says the Lord your God....over and over and yet Isaiah says "come let us reason together, though your sin be a scarlet it will be washed white as snow.

Now Fast Forward to the new testiment Romans Chap 3 and 5 deal specifically with the idea that you are free from sin by the death of Christ. The last verse of Romans 5 is ''Where sin abounded Grace abounded that much more", Any just about the time you are ready to go and party hearty read Romans 6:1 "So what shall we say then,... shall we continue to sin that Grace may abound? GOD FORBID!!!"

Noe read Titus 2:11 thru 14 The idea is that Salvation in Christ is teaching us daily with the strength of the Holy Spirit how to say No to our ungodly desires. Then go forward to Titus Chapter 3:3 thru 8.

So in a nutshell off the top of my head it is my understanding from Scripture that it is Gods will that we saty in His will and not be in sin. That He salvation can keep us from that sin, and if our flesh get in the way and causes us to fall, we can get up and ask for forgiveness of sin. To those that confess Christ and have no ability to keep from sinning they are the ones that have not completely surrendered to Christ.
To willfully engage in sinful activity wi infact cause those who have asked Christ into there hearts to be cut off from the many blessings that God has for us in this life. Not many answered prayers, as "What fellowship has the light with the dark, or God with sin?"

Something to ponder God bless

Perhaps the question should be if I willfully return to blatant sin, was I truly repentant in the first place?

God is the only one who truly knows hearts my brother. How can I answer? You can see debate among mature believers using scripture. Who can truly know someones heart besides God? Who can truly know IF someone was truly saved to begin with besides God?

My wife and her women's Sunday School Class just spent this last weeks class time entirely on Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
My wife's Sunday School Class didn't settle anything. They just discussed things.

Personally, I'm not going to claim to know the meaning of this scripture; I know there is debate amongst scholars. One woman of excellent reputation at church said that she had read several commentaries on this scripture above and didn't like any of them. If people would spend more time living the Bible and less time arguing it, we wouldn't have to worry about this kind of stuff.

If you will-fully go back, and live in sin, essentially you would be throwing heaven away.

Why do that?

Many Bible scholars feel you can't lose your salvation, but they can't promise you that you WERE ever saved in the first place.

Other scholars...and I tend to agree with them... SAY "YES" SALVATION CAN BE FORFEITED!

Our Lord gave us an illustration of people knocking at the door, and the Lord says "I never knew you!"

Why argue the issue of whether you CAN lose salvation, or not; when the issue of salvation is only proven in the after-life.

If you can't lose your salvation, you can certainly miss heaven by never REALLY having given your heart to Jesus!!! If you go back to sin, it seems you did not really get saved at all.

Don't risk it!

Repent of your sins. That is saying more than "forgive me Lord". Repenting of sin means saying "I quit!" Commit to Him for all eternity, and /he will commit to you!!!.

Get right with the loving Father/God who gives us life and life eternal, and judges perfectly, knowing us even better than we know ourselves!!!

If you willfully go back then you were never saved to begin with.

2 Corinthians 7:10
10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.

What do you mean by willingly? do you mean purposely? without remorse in hate of GOD? From what I understand, salvation is lost to those who are aware of GOD, and refused to acknowledge him, like what happen in the Roman Empire; as with Jesus death, as well as the atheist. They know GOD, but refused to acknowledge his presence, from what I understand this is the only way to loose your salvation, but like the Bible Say's does that mean we go out, and sin, because grace is abound? because we have salvation. I Quote the Bible" GOD FORBID" Romans 6:1-20. Does that mean we don't fall sometimes, we do A good man is known to fall seven times. Look at David in the Bible as well as Moses, and a few others in the Bible, GOD said David was a man after his own heart.

Paul wrote to one of the churches that God's grace was not a excuse to dive into sin knowing you can ask for forgiveness. Granted we may "Fall of the wagon" so to speak. But to turn and run to sin so that you can embrace it? Chances are yes in time. Just for the sake of argument lets say you didn't. The fruits of your sin would destroy you in time as well.

IF you can willfully choose to go back to sin...then I would think that you have not truly been saved in the first place.
