I've been curious to find out why the Bible never included us.
I thought that maybe we are the descendants of Cain (who killed his brother Abel and went his own way),but again whereever we came from the Bible talks about Noah's ark.
If Noah went into his ark with his family and two of every animal including insects and the world was completely destroyed with flood, then aren't blacks part of Noah's crew aboard the ark???????
No one survived the flood except those on the ark so if we desended from Cain and were as evil as every race thinks then where did come from again?
All the evil people died during the flood.
Those aboard the ark settled somewhere after the flood and then evil started taking roots in them.

Can anybody help out with some clarifications?
Tell me what you know from the Bible about us.

and lastly, racist people around here can take a hike.
Racist, enjoy your summer and don't come here.

Many people have started screaming Africa!!
Was there something like Africa in the Bible?
Bible included Egyptians who are basically not blacks.
I'm talking abt ancestry in the Bible.
God created Adam and Eve as the first humans who were "whites" or might have represented a single race.
The major racial differences stand b/n whites and blacks cos asians, latinos and others come under the caucasian race.
Jews have their ancestry ( like Joseph who was traded to some merchants from Egypt.) but i'm talking abt blacks. Did God assign skin tones after he disrupted the building of Tower of Babel by pouring out different languages on the builders????????

Well My personally belief is that religion today as we read it has been traditionally translated and dictated to us by white people. The ancestry of most black people dates back to Africa. SO......my personal belief is that many of the churches today are broken, the scripture itself is a translation, translated in those times by whites. They may have missed the references to blacks because they probably at the time didnt know they even existed on another continent. Our church system today I believe is broken. Not that I dont believe in a God. I just believe theres something wrong with the translation. And I believe God doesnt want my paycheck. I believe that god wants us all to somehow figure it out on our own. When you have catholic priests in prolific numbers molesting children I believe its time to look at the translation, I think you bring up a very very valid point. So ....I say that you live a good life, believe what you like and treat others around you good. I believe its time for a change, time for a black president and as time gos on racial devisions will just fade away. We will all become one race eventually, I myself am a mix of finnish, russian , german ect .. It wont be in our lifetime, but we can set the precedent. Another point to make is if you look at the region to which much of the base of christianity is based, the middle eastern folks arent all exactly lilly white in that area either. So I think its the messenger and not the message. I think God loves all people and all races and as time goes on we will end up just by human nature becoming one. And to the those racially motivated ignorants May god bless you with the wisdom to change and if not, kiss my ....

Whoever said Adam and Eve were white. I think both science and religion say life emanated from where the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers come together at the mouth of the Persian Gulf. Right there in the middle east with Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia; technically, the Southwest part of the Asian Continent, but real close to the African Continent. The tribes all drifted off into different directions. Over time, exposure to different levels of sunlight changed the pigmentation of our skin--some white, some black, some in between. My Grandson has blond hair and blue eyes--his heritage is Mexican (Latino), Jewish, German and Swedish. The racist people will have to account for themselves one day, as we all will. Treat others as you want to be treated.

You shouldn't take every story in the bible so literally and think about how the world was when it was written. The flood of Noah's time was written down by a human being who can make mistakes or misinterpretations. When it said "the whole world" it could have seemed that way to the people of the time. The entire planet didn't actually flood, just a large portion of the area that Noah's people were from. Therefore, black people, who originate from Africa, were not effected by the flood, thus they survived. :)

Considering that paleontological and archaeological evidence pretty clearly indicates that the earliest humans were from Africa, I'd say that's pretty conclusive proof that in biblical terms Adam and Eve were black.

Noah, his family, and everyone on board at the time would also have been black.

Although it doesn't fit with archaeological evidence, if you are strictly going by biblical references, then white folks probably only developed following the scattering of the people after the Tower of Babel incident. Prior to that, we were all black, which is why the bible doesn't bother to mention it.

I'll try to answer in a biblical sense (though I'd usually answer in a scientific sense)

The big assumption that you've made is that Adam and Eve were white, I've read the book of genesis, and can say with much confidence that there is no reference to the skin colour of Adam and Eve.

This of course raises the opposite question, "if the A&E were black, where did white people come from". Either way you're going to somehow come to the conclusion of some sort of evolution.

There is a social stigma against the people of black race according to the Bible. But then the source is the narrations of some of the Christian apostles and not Jesus.

The Koran on the other hand has not made any qualitative distinction between the white and the black peoples on the basis of their races. It says the noblest of the peoples in the sight of God are not of what tribes or races they belong to but on the basis of their piety.

The origin of the complexion and racial features can be attributed to the geographical and environmental conditions for life adaptability.

I am a white Christian, and from what I understand is that during the building of the Tower of Babel, man decided he wanted to build a tower to reach God. (this is the"nutshell" story) As man, as a creation and not as gender, was building this tower, God was impressed by this. He saw the abilities people would have when they worked together. For whatever reason (I would have to look it up again), God decided he needed to create different languages to creat confusion among the people. Of course, people sought out people they could communicate with, and they settled in various parts of the world.

I don't know why someone would tell you that it was to make you the descendants of Can and make you punished for his sin. Unless it is a "I am better than you because.....scenerio". However, they need to know their Bible a little bit better.

The Bible does not give people "rank" by color, but by how they love God, and if they live by his commands. Evil is in everyones heart. That is true, but it is only through the love of Jesus that we can be freed from the results of that wickedness. When God commanded killing in the Bible, it was because the people were not worshipping Him, and therefore this was the way He would keep His people free from the influences (being tolerant) of the false religions. Color of skin is not important. Beliefe is!

Personally I think black skin (and other racial characteristics of "blacks") is most likely a result of adaptation to the environment and survival of the fittest. Noah and his family most likely carried the genes to allow for all sorts of "mutations" (no negative connotations intended) that would allow his descendents to develop characteristics most suited to the environment they lived in.

I grew up a short distance from White Sands New Mexico. Near my house, I saw tan colored rattle snakes, brown and tan lizards, and tan colored jack rabbits. When I traveled to White Sands, all of a sudden, all the animals that lived there became white...white lizards, white jack rabbits, white coyotes, and even white rattle snakes. Here in south Texas, I see far more bright green lizards than I ever saw in southern New Mexico. These adaptations help the animals survive. A tan lizard stands out against the white sand and would quickly become dinner for a hawk...his white brothers and sisters would be harder to spot and thus would have a greater chance of living to produce offspring. A tan (or white) lizard in south texas would stand out against all the green trees and plants...again, a quick dinner...but a green one would be able to hide in the plants and live to produce off spring.

I don't know for sure, but if I had to guess, I'd say that black skin is an adaptation required to live in a hot and sunny environment (like much of Africa and some other parts of the world). Humans may not have had to worry about predators as much as a lizard, but a blue-eyed, light skinned red head would have a harder time surviving without plenty of shelter in a hot sunny environment.

God was very specific when he gave over a hundred prophecies in the OT about the first coming of Jesus Christ. They were all literally fulfilled when Jesus came the first time. Therefore I have great confidence in the prophecies regarding his Second Coming. The Bible tells us that Jesus had to be born in Bethlehem. The name of the town was given hundreds of years before Christ was born. He must also be born of a woman who was a Jew. Mary's genealogy includes Jews. The Bible also says that the Messiah would be pierced (as Jesus was on the cross), and many other prophecies. The events that must take place when Jesus comes again have not occurred. When Jesus comes again, He will come out of the sky, shining bright so that no one could miss Him. the sky will be dark at the time, so every eye will see Him plainly. Your question is a good one. It is answered by paying attention to the specific details about the event given in the Bible. We know the Son of God, the Savior of the World, the Judge of the Living and the Dead has come because of the amount of prophecy he perfectly fulfilled. We know Jesus has not come the second time because the events have not unfolded in the way the Bible states.

You are sooo beautiful. Read http://www.fathersloveletter.com . Don't read into mans prejudices.

When God separated the people at the 'Tower of Babal' so also was one baby born named 'Phleg'. Meaning earthquakes, land divisions by flooding etc. And after this time people didn't live long lives anymore. Not reaching a 200yr birthday. Something catastrophic happened. Everyone also spoke own national languages & people divided accordingly.

Well? Most black people lived in Africa & this color is adaption to environment.

The Idea that black have the mark of Cain comes from Jospeph Smith who wrote the book of mormon. He said that the those born with the mark of cain were the bad spirit children. That we are spirit children before put on earth. This is contradictory to the Holy Bible teaching though. God looks at all his children as just as important. Not saying man is better than women, or one face better than another face, or one dress better than another dress, or one color better than another color, or one nation better than another. That we, from all nations can receive Gods Grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
God so loved all the peoples of the world, that He sent His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him will not perish, but shall have everlasting life.

Also, some bible readers have mistaken Cannan as blacks. When Grandpa Noah cursed Ham's youngest. Hams youngest was Cannan & he was white. (Joyce Meyer once said this, that they were white.) And they were very corrupt people, doing all idolatries & adulteries & also sacrificing children thtough the fire to their devils. Cannan was overcome by Israel. Is Israel today. It is written that the earth itself vomited out the Cannanites. That they made the earth sick.

Also, Moses married Zippora. She was darker skinned. Moses sister Marium was prejudice & the Lord rebuked Marium for this. A condition like leprose. So? A conscequence of prejudice?

Lady phenix has a good web site. It confirms that the guilty party was Canaan & not Ham. My Pastor is the one who has preached Zippora (Moses wife) is a black woman. But when I look up Cush in my Strongs Exhaustive, it doesn't mean black. So? I know that Jacobs brother is named Esau and that means red. Red hair? Irish?
