If you truly believe that god is the reason for everything, why do you only thank him when the outcome of an event is in your favor? (Thank god, I survived that car accident) Why don't you thank him for taking things away? (Thank god, he got me fired from work)

The answer to this has nothing to do with god. Thanks are given when a person receives something desired.

You thank your boss when you get a raise. Would you thank him if he fired you?

Funny that during and after the bad is when most people thank God the most. Not for letting the bad happen, but carrying us though. All things have a purpose, even the bad.

God knows the best...He knows what other people's dont know..
The good is come from the God and bad is come from ourselves. We cannot blame the bad is come from God because maybe He want to test our faith in Him by giving such thing that out of our favor.

Sometimes bad thing happens for a good reason. It is just a matter of how our mind can accept that bad thing , in other words try to be a positive thinking.

For me this things is inexplicable, depend on person how they deal with this complicated thing.

I thank God that He can bring good out of natural evils like death, disease, accidents and the like. God can also bring good out of the choises of moral evil of others if i choose to live the good anyway.
In the end, I thank God for everything because grace is stronger than sin and life is stronger than death and love is stronger than hate and indifference

Ive noticed that when horrible things happen to religious people, they are fond of exclaiming how "blessed" they are. Religion has all bases covered. If good things happen its a blessing. If bad things happen its a test, a blessing, an assault by Satan, or their own fault. Their lives are just as random as everyone elses.

Because "god" is nothing more than a nonsense word made up by man to explain away all of the things we can't yet understand.
