If you can it's a good idea to take the whole course... It's not that expensive.. Think of it as cheaper than an emergency room co-pay ! It's also just good to know if you are somewhere and a child or anyone for that matter is hurt, choking and needs assistance.. My husband and I both have training as part of our jobs... good luck

Chokeing!! For kids young in age seem to do this alot. My oldest son choked 2 times on hard candy and if I hadn't known what to do he may have died. But needless to say that that little bit of ed saved him and he is 16 now. My second I wouldn't even let him eat hotdog skin till he was like 3 It scared me so bad. He's now 12 and I still tell him to be careful eating.

As your little one gets older and starts eating solids, anything to do with choking is a must! Mine was eating cheez-its at about 5 months old and started choking. I picked him up, flipped him upside-down and patted his back with out even thinking about it. 2-3 hits and it was over.

If it were me I would take the full course of everything. When I helped out in a daycare I had to know everything about all of it. And yes a couple of times I had to use what I knew.
