We actually welcome immigrants and encourage them to succeed. We however do not like illegal aliens who sneak into our country, have babies only to suck our social system dry and break our laws. If you are legal you will be most welcome.

American are become increasingly distrustful toward immigrants and rightly so. When a government of the people turn against its own citizen infavor of others who have no rights in the country and legal immigrants who bash the receiving country it gets a little old.

We are not perfect nor do we claim to be we also know the things don't always work in this country. We all not think alike, or like each other. But, less then .01% American born and raised in the USA culture run to other countries that says a lot about us.

My advice to you if you come take in the good with the not so good, don't tell us how you would do it in your country or how your country think about the USA we really don't care and if you did you wouldn't be immigrating here.
If you remember that you will fit in and we will accept you.

I work with young people who parents are diplomats moving abroad to live in some very stranges place much different then what you will experience here in the US.
What I teach them is not much different then what I stated to you. No matter how good or bad a country is or how one feels about their policy it is still anothers country, giving an opinion in some countries could get one killed.
What I see happening in the USA today, it is only a matter of time it will happen here also. Think about it.

Not generally, no, though it might depend on exactly where you go. In a cosmopolitan city like NY or SF, they'll hardly notice. In a backwater, you might face some xenophobia.

There is a lot of rancor directed towards Illegal Immigrants, but if you come legally, you have a good chance of avoiding that. Especially if there aren't a lot of illegals coming from your country.

Not at all, as long as you do it lawfully and through the right processes. As a country, we actually like the variety of people, customs, foods, etc.

There is a big misconception that Americans don't like immigrants... the media likes to make it sound that way, when in truth it is only those persons breaking our immigration laws that we have a problem with. We've all either immigrated, or are descendents of immigrants. We do truly like, and welcome, anyone who lawfully comes here and becomes a member of our citizenry.

Hope this helps!

Will you be legally here?

The US is only hostile to the millions here illegally, overcrowding schools and taking services we fund for our own and for those legally here.

As long as you are abiding by the LAW you should be fine. If I went to a foreign country illegally, broke the law, stole someone's identity, I would expect to be punished!! as should you.

If you are a legal immigrant you will be treated respectfully. It is the 'illegals' who are trying to force their way into our system and using our resources illegally that we have a problem with. They expect us to pay their medical bills, give them food stamps and educate them, without going through the proper channels. Legal immigration is a wonderful thing - my ancestors were immigrants.

Immigrants are always welcome as long as they use the proper channels to enter this country lawfully.
There are many different types of people here with a wide range of views on every topic imaginable - I'm sure you will find people will welcome you and any new ideas you bring warmly regardless of your heritage.
