I get them off on Sept 10th and I want to know. The dentist says it doesnt hurt but I dont know what to belive.

No, it doesn't. It is such a relief to have them out that even if it is moderately uncomfortable, you will be amazed how quickly they will be gone!

It depends what you call sore. It hurts a bit when they are removing the bands in the back of your mouth but otherwise everything else is cool. Your teeth will feel really slimy after and it might hurt brushing your teeth coz you can get to all the hard-to-reach-with-braces areas but otherwise its a relief to have them out!

No, it won't hurt, but your mouth will feel kind of sore because a) the orthodondist has to apply a bit of pressure to get the bands off, and b) your mouth will feel strange because it no longer has all that metal in it. The first thing I did (after the soreness wore off) was eat the one thing I really craved but couldn't have - caramel popcorn balls!

No it didn't hurt me either, i just remember my teeth felt so weird they were slimy and they felt huge in my mouth but it went away after a while....congrats on getting them off though!

I have had braces for 8 yrs. It didnt hurt me, i think it was b/c I was just soo excited! LOL.

Not really. Your gums may get a bit swollen but it doesn't hurt as much as you would think.

no it doesn't hurt. your teeth will feel slimy and wierd, but it goes away in a day or two.
