ronnykyn, Jesus said for us to ask God. The Holy Spirit is gifts. In the parable that earth daddies know how to give good gifts to their children. So how much more will the Father of Lights give good gifts to His children.

Maryoblate, you are twisting things. To put God to the test is to disobey God & see if God will do anything about it. Like go worship a 2ft idol & see if God gets mad.

Kitty, That isnt fruits of the Holy Spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, etc... Is. You are describing demonic spirits. Also, performing an abortion murders a fetus who can't speak for himself. And the mother is more likely to have health problems from the abortion than if they carried baby to deliverance.

Upon salvation the Holy Spirit took up residence in your life. (Ephesians 1:13) You got all of Him at that moment. The infilling is when He gets all of you!
Ephesians 5:18 says, "Do not be drunk with wine which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit.
The phrase there actually means "Be continually filled" it is not a one time "Event" rather that a moment by moment experience. He lives in us... always... but we do not always let Him live through us. The true evidence is a life submitted to God.
I believe the best biblical evidences are listed in Ephesians 5:19-21... speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Some say tongues and prophecy are THE evidence, unfortunately biblically that doesn't match up. There are instances in the scripture when people were filled and did not speak in tongues and prophecy.
The true evidence seems to be a life fully submitted to God.

The Holy Spirit indwells in us all. To know if someone is saved you look at the fruits of the Spirit. Not sure where the scripture is that talks about that. Tongues is a language and was used to witness to the lost, except one time I believe God let the gentiles speak in tongues(language) to show the jews that even the gentiles can be saved to. Acts 10:46. That the same Spirit which was in them is in the gentiles as well.

Proof of the Holy Spirit in our lives is not how we feel. When something is there, the Holy Spirit, there is evidence. The evidence of the Holy Spirit in your life is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. In Galatians 5:22-23 it tell us that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. When we are saved the Holy Spirit works in our lives and gives us these fruit. If you don't have the fruit or the "evidence" of the Holy Spirit then you are not saved.

One will bear the fruits of the Holy Spirit after the initial infilling. The Holy Spirit is the precious annointed oil that heals and protects our souls from our own flesh and from the world. It is up to us, in accord to our free will, to protect, preserve, purify, and regenerate the oil of the Holy Spirit within so that we may remain within the family of God.

definite. i admire all God's creatures in spite of the indisputable fact that, I conflict with the objective of the Potato trojan horse... i admire so deeply that i'm getting bodily unwell as quickly as I see human beings scaling down and grinding up fairly huge previous tress. Like they weren't in any respect even there... Now, it is severe. i've got been doing canine rescue for over 3 years now. I under no circumstances completely understood the intensity of cruelty that guy is able to. I do now. not in straight forward terms to animals, yet to a minimum of one yet another.

There's no "test", it's a very specific process clearly defined step-by-step by God in Ephesians

Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Eph 5:20 Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Note that vs 18 ends with a semicolon...vss 19-21 describe HOW one can follow the command given in vs 18.

Speak a psalm, speak a hymn/spiritual song, sing, give thanks, and submit yourself to another. These things give the Spirit freedom to operate within you. Of course, you need to have the Holy Spirit indwelling in the first place for it to work.

To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to be relying on God. You can't just do your own thing, but have to be prayerfully following God's Word (which means you got to work to know it).

You will be tested all the time...How you treat somebody who is mean or abusive to you, how you handle sickness & death, are you thankful for even the bad things? Your attitude when things are bad, how you treat others on a daily basis, not judging others...the list goes on. Pray everyday for strength (and I pray for patience!) and love. God & your faith can get you thru anything. God bless!!!

There are three tests in I John 4:1-6

1.) It's your unshakable belief and conviction that Jesus Christ came died, and rose again to save you from your sins.

2.) You have a natural love for other believers.

3.) You have a love for God's law.
