Such as, a forum for the atheists, and a forum for the israelits, and a forum for the- you get my point right?

so do you think we should all stay in the same forum, or should we be separated?

do you prefer being lumped in with all the other "religious" people or do you prefer to go hang out with other people who all believe the same thing?

would you rather have your faith questioned, or would you rather discuss you faith with people of similar beliefe?

so, would you prefer together? or seperate?

This is a serious question, I want everybody's answer.

No, because then you wouldn't get to see things from a different point of view. If all you get are answers from people just like you, you may only get what you want to hear.
Keep it the way it is, if you are asking one group in particular, put it in the question.

do all the baseball teams have seperate pages?
get my point?

i think people misinterpret the intention yahoo answers was created for. this wasnt meant to be a place to "hang out" in. it was supposed to just be a place for questions and answers. that is why chatting is against the community guidelines and such. for the most part it is used as intended. sections such as this though are notable exceptions.

What would be the point? There are plenty of sites where a person can go to talk to people with the same views. YA is supposed to be a more open forum.

I come here to see other people's points of view, but I wouldn't mind a forum strictly for my own religious group.

I don't think they should be separated here. There are forums out there that are for specific beliefs. If someone just wants to be around people that agree with everything they say, then they can go to one of those.
I don't think it would be very interesting to only be around people who believe the same thing you do. You certainly won't learn very much, that's for sure.
"Who here loves Jesus?"
"I do!"
"Me, too!"
"Ditto!"
"Me, here!"
"Praise Jesus!"
"Me!"

How interesting is that?

No, we belong together, otherwise all you have is a bunch of people who agree with each other. For example, if there was an 'atheist' section, it would be like this:

"hey, you know how i don't believe in god?"
"yeah, me too"
"yeah, totally....."

On second thought, do you know how awesome it would be to be able to say "what are Christians doing in the atheist section?"

That would rule!

We are not separated in the real world. Why would we wish to do so here? It is nice to see different views of your own beliefs as well as others.

One of the benefits of having all religion packed into one category is the opportunity to view ideas and beliefs that are different than your own.
It is a greater opportunity to challenge your belief system and make yourself into a more educated and better person.

It would separate into groups so narrow in the interest of reducing strife that there would no longer be any exchange of ideas, no challenge to belief, just silly clics.

It wouldn't be fun or effective if everyone was seperated. It's important to get insight from people who have different beliefs than you.

Plus, making seperate categories wouldn't stop someone from entering one they don't belong in....
