Firstly not all men abuse women. Secondly there are women that abuse men. Thirdly both Genders abuse the Bible, and that my dear young lady is the root of the trouble. People abuse because they want Power and the true source of Power is in Serving others. They just don't get it...do you?

Thats why when looking for a mate one should pray. Men should know what the bible says about loving his wife as Christ loved the church. Women should know what there role is as well. Women are the weaker vessel and the men are the head of our home. Men are not to be like a boss and telling us go fetch this and do that. We are your mate we come from the rib of man and that joins us to your side. We are to do things together and make decisions together. Men are not the boss they are just the head of the home. You are to lead us closer to Christ as we are to help you in the same way. When we get married to the right man or woman we become as one.

As a man, I can state categorically that men abuse the Bible to try to make themselves as though they were actually better than women.

Men who feel that they must have the predominance forget that God took the woman from Adam's rib.

He didn't make Eve from Adam's head, to lord it over him.

He didn't take a bone from Adam's leg, for him to step all over her and abuse her.

He took a rib, from beside his heart. He is to cherish and care for her, and together they make a family, in a unified coming together of ideals and thoughts that make the physical union all the more blessed because it is mutual and loving.

It is like a choir, everyone singing in harmony, rather than everyone singing their own song in their own key.

Remember, when the Bible says that the wives should obey the husband, the very next sentence says that husbands are to love their wives the way Christ loved the church, and GAVE HIS LIFE for her!

Men dont - they read from the bible and it's VERY dated. According to Leviticus you should stay in a private room and not be touched while menstruating. There are numerous stories in the bible that show women were created as lesser beings. People were used their daughters and maidens as trades and told the wicked men to basically ravage them!

Because a lot of men are the problem not God.

Who changed the bible? Who started the wars we are witnessing today? Who degrades women & pays them less then men?

Because the have a sin nature. What about you.
The bible says man should love his wife as Christ loves the church.
Ask him.
Would you let someone spit on you because of me?
Would you be scourged for me?
Would you carry my cross for me?
Would you die so that I may live?
Judge the answers for yourself. Some women just refuse to leave an abusive relationship and God doesn't want you to stay.

God doesn't hate any of us, unless we're liars. He does hate some of the stuff we do. And, let's be honest, we do some stupid things. Like some men lording over their wives. My dad and my uncles were never like that. Wish I could say the same about my ex. Oh, well. People are like that. They take what they like from the Bible, or any other book, and ignore what they don't like. Take almost any statement out of context and it's meaning can be misinterpreted.

You don't have to "abuse" the Bible to come up with the idea that women are second-class citizens. It's right there in black-and-white:

"Let your women keep silence in the churches; for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but to be under obedience, as also saith the Law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home; for it is a shame for women to speak in the church." (1 Corinthians 14:34-35)

And so on. "Paul" wasn't real keen on women, it seems - not that this was extraordinary for his day.

Do I agree with this position? No. But anybody who believes the Bible to be "God-breathed" is required to, isn't he?
