No it is not good idea at all, any cook will tell you that, you will end up with over cooked meal.

Best option is to keep your food refrigerated and heat it just about 30 mins before you need to serve.

If your Pots are Oven safe (500F) then heat your oven to 400F and place all dishes in, for about 15 to 30mins max to re-heat.

This process actually helps some tomato sauce based foods to taste much better.

If you're looking for a safe way to cook food during the day when you're not home try a slow cooker or crock pot instead. Probably would use less power than a oven as well.

Not if you're sane. Regardless of what the oven temp is, you need to make sure not to keep your oven on too long or the heat will compound. This IS okay- if you're going to check it every hour or so. This'll let the heat out and reduce the risk of a fire of some sort. You have to look at it this way: the good news is, it isn't impossible, as long as you check it every hour or so. The bad news is, it isn't possible to just leave it on all day and expect there not to be a risk of a fire. This is basic science.

It would totally ruin the food. If its a casserole, stew, soup or the like, something with moisture, it can be put in a crockpot and left on warm but in an oven youd just dry it out and suck any moisture out of the food. Better to refrigerate and reheat later.

Noon to 7? Your food will probably dry out. If it is something you can put in the crockpot do that instead. No your house will probably not burn down the house, but your really shouldn't leave it on unattended

I don't think you have to worry about your house falling down, but whatever it is you made for dinner will probably be very, very dried out by then. 7 hours in the oven is a long time.

Why not prepare it by noon and bake it at 6:00? Unless you're making a huge turkey, there's no reason to leave it on until 7:00, especially in this heat.

ok, i do no longer be attentive to how thick your steaks are, so i visit grant you classes for a commonplace thickness it rather is 3/4 in. thick. First take the steaks out of the refrigerator and enable them back to room temp. pass the oven rack, to no longer the remarkable, however the subsequent one down. Preheat your broiler at a extreme placing. place the steaks on a cookie sheet, or jelly roll pan. some flat pan with low aspects. Season with salt and pepper on the two aspects. placed the steaks below the broiler. i could recommend broiling the steaks approximately 6 minutes in line with side for uncommon. Bon Apatite!

I wouldn't recommend leaving food in the oven for that long. unless it stays HOT, bacteria will grow and may make you sick. How about cooking it in a slow cooker, such as a crock pot? I make yummy roasts and ham in mine. It will stay hot safely for 7 hours!

Best wishes!

not a good idea. Get a slow cooker or a crock pot. they are safe to leave on for a long time. Your oven can overheat and cause a fire, it will dry out your food terribly too.
