It is sad how we speak out of ignorance. This is just what the woman did. It is up to God what her fate will be.

That was so wrong. This woman did not understand what God wants of her, she did not understand the needs of a child and she was insensitive. I can not say what has happened to her after this life. However, I do know that people make mistakes. Was this a mistake or a cruel intention? We don't know but, God does.
There are many loving and caring people in the Lord's body. I hope that some day your grandfather will realize that. I am so sorry.

Such a statement would be very traumatic for a 5 year old to hear. It seems understandable that he has shunned religion all of those years. As to what happens to the woman...? That is hard for me to say as I cannot speak for God. However, I would think that as we are accountable for our actions, this woman too has some explaining to do before God; like along the lines of how her statements effected the life of a child. What her punishment would be, I also cannot say....

My family had a similar experience...my dad commit suicide when I was 5. My grandparents went to the catholic priest who told them to forget him because he was in hell. They took his advice and held no funeral or memorial service and left his ashes in another state. The result of this was that they both suffered greatly not grieving or acknowledging him or their emotions and both died painfully. I burried my fathers remains when I was 23...
I think the people who say these things are only catalysts to our learning. We can either believe them and let it damage us our whole lives, or we can hear what God tells us, that he loves us all. I don't believe these people will go to hell. I believe there is no hell...but upon their death, they will do an intense life review to see what they learned and who they hurt, just as we all do.

A woman pled guilty to second-degree murder this week after she shook her baby for interrupting her while she was playing FarmVille, resulting in his death. Twenty-two year-old Alexandra Tobias told police that she got angry because her three month-old son Dylan was crying while she was playing FarmVille on Facebook. She said that she shook the baby, then had a cigarette "to compose herself" before shaking him once more. She also said that he may have hit his head during the shaking. Second-degree murder is punishable by a sentence of up to life in prison, though it could be less because state guidelines suggest 25 – 50 years. She'll be sentenced in December

God will hold her accountable for her words AND for the effect they had on your grandfather AND on everyone else he influenced in his life as a result of her words.

Upon her death the process of decomposition started, just as it does for everyone else.
She was wrong to say such things to your Grandfather as her words served only to hurt him, but there's no divine judgment coming her way as death is simply the end.

Probably nothing. She probably lay on her deathbed firmly convinced of her delusions. In case you haven't noticed, religious people here on R&S go around saying the same thing all day long.
