I know this guy who is shy and quiet but is attracted to this bitchy girl. She snubs him, ignores him and gives him the cold shoulder if she doesnt get her way. They also constantly fight as she wants it her way or no way. Is this attractive? I thought being good to someone is the right way to do things.... dont you want someone in your life who does nice things for you?

He may just be attracted to her because he can't always have her (and you know guys; they always want what they can't have because to them the unobtainable is always so much more exciting...). Ignoring him is a like playing hard to get around him, and playing hard to get around a guy who likes you tends to make him crazy about you! Being good to someone kind of shows that you're interested in the guy, which cuts the chase for them; they know you like them and then the challenge of pursuing you is over. Then they might lose interest. It's not that you should be bitchy towards guys, but you shouldn't be too nice towards them either.

The same reason some women are attracted to abusive, jerk-like men. If you have a low self-esteem, then you're not going to respect yourself enough to stand up and say "hey - I deserve better." Also, some people misunderstand this kind of behavior as power or confidence. People who bully other people are actually not confident inside at all even if that's what they try to portray. They get with weaker people so they can control them and that is pathetic.....that is NOT confidence, it's weakness.

well its a known fact some peple like getting mistreated. some people NEED a reaction from there bf/gf all the time to feel as though they care or they are needed by them. but some men confuse bitchy with being strong and think a overbearing women is strong...... which is wrong they are insecure and weak. thats why they act bitchy.

Perhaps he was raised by a strong woman and therefore has an attraction to powerful women? As his mother was such a positive influence he is attracted to the negative form of powerful female projection so he can have a physical relationship without feeling he is having sex with his own mom

Some guys are just physically attracted to women, it has nothing to do with personality. They see something they want and they pursue. Women are the same way, some just go for the men that treat them like dirt. It always seems to boil down to low self-esteem or physical attraction.

Different people are attracted to different things. It would turn me off, but some guys like that kind of domination. To wax Freudian for a moment, perhaps he's seeking a quality in a woman that reminds him of how he was treated as a child, seeking to confront issues as an adult which he never quite overcame as a child.

Not all people like bitchy women! But the ones who do are use to it, like in other relationships or in their childhood, that is all they know, They are probably insecure, and so beaten down that they want women to tell them what to do!

Did this guy grow up with a bitchy Mom and/or bitchy sisters?

He may be seeking out what he is comfortable with.

In general most guys aren't terribly smitten with bitchy women. Consider it an anomaly and don't think about it too much.

Most people do, but then sometimes the old adage that "opposites attract" is true as well....

Perhaps the guy has a self-esteem problem, and he figures he can't get "any better" than this cow who orders him around....
