Would we be able to move objects with our minds or now all the un solved problems of math?
What will happen at 100 percent?

And how is it possible to use at least 80 percent?

That "we use 10 percent of our brains" thing is an urban myth.

One of the most important psychological discoveries of recent years was the fact that the brain is really not involved in most behavior. From driving to voting to choosing what music to listen to and what TV shows to watch, most behavior is performed without any involvement at all from the brain.

Hey, Dim, I used to type for a living. The thinking is the important part.

We can't use all 100%of our brains all time long, this could either cause brain damage or bad tiredness... But what we do, is use 'sides' of our brains depending on time, for example when you listen to music or think about love or deal with emotional desires and issues, that's using some specific side of your brain. There is no way on planet earth somebody could solve an algebra problem while thinking about how much he loves his girlfriend! Humans have specific times of using specific sides and parts of their brains... Of course, there is a memories side, and there are sides of learning and doing math and algebra and physics and all that, and side of emotional thinking... So to answer the question if we use all our side of our brains? Then YES! We do... Even if we're not good at math for example, we DO think about math, just by answering 4-1, you'll have a thought about math! So being bad at something has nothing to do with using your brain because you use your brain in anything you go through... Anyways, the answer is yes we use 100% of our brains, BUT and as I said, we can't use the whole 100% in ONE time! ;)

we might be able to move objects with our mind, solve problems mathematical and otherwise that we had been unable to solve before, maybe the world would be more peaceful, maybe we would be more open minded, maybe we would have more empathy, maybe we would be more connected to each other mentally/psycicly, maybe we would intuitively know some future events/ predict future events better.

i do not know how it is possible to use at least 80 percent. perhaps it is some people are born able to use more of their brain. or perhaps some people learned how and have taught others to do so.

We'd be paralyzed, unable to make new memories or learn things, our hearts wouldn't work, and since every one of our synapses was firing, we wouldn't be able to form any discernable thoughts anyway.

It'd be a lot like using 0% of your brain, except with seizures. Maybe watching someone affected by nerve gas would be a better example.

Anyway, the 10% figure is a myth. Check out the source.

Hello,

Lots of good answers already. Think of it this way. If a person is shot in the head, geta a lobotomy or gets severe injuries in a car accident other parts of the brain should take over those functions if that were the case. Sadly it is not.

Ten percent is a bogus number. It is true that we are not always using all of our brain all of the time (if we did we would have a seizure and die) but what part and how much of your brain you're using is entirely dependent on what you're doing.

The "If we only use 10 percent of our brains" part of your question is a false premise. That is a common urban legend, but has no basis in reality.

Damn, Paul. Apparently we think alike, but you type faster.

How is it possible for us to have a brain that could hold enough info to last over 3 millions years, when all we can live up to is 90 years?

no thats a myth we use all of our brain, but we use around about 10% at any one time, like parts of you brain u use for maths would be around about 10% say, though it doens't alway equate to being that much and sometimes more

Why would using more of your brain give you special powers? Is their any evidence of this?

Rather, I propose if we used the other 90% of our brain, we would simply destroy ourselves 90% sooner than we likely will now.
