Article above.

This is not the first time I heard of another country doing this but us...unless for the lucky few who get on tv but sometimes you shouldn't have to bare all your fat on tv just to get help.

in the usa, there are huge companies selling unhealthy food that do not want people to eat healthy, lose weight, and change their diets because they will lose customers and hence money. there is a huge obesity problem here the usa is not motivated to offer to pay those people to lose weight because that would cost them so much money. there is a huge weightloss industry that does not want to see people fully succeed at losing weight because they lose their customers.

true one should not have to go on tv and lose all their privacy just to lose weight.

good question. and thanks for the info i never realized other countries paid people to lose weight.

Well, if you need to lose weight, you just start eating healtier. A majority of overweight people are that way because they are not willing to work to lose it. If you have an eating disorder thats a different story. But I don't think its right to pay people to lose weight. What if you had already lost the weight before they implemented it? No one paid you to do it. It's sad our world has to PAY people to lose weight when there are starving people everywhere.

Why should people have to be paid to take care of themselves? It's their fault they are fat (unless they have a medical disorder or some other uncommon issue) so why can't they take responsibility for their actions and for getting into shape?

I topped out at over 230 lbs years ago. It was my fault. I ate a lot, unhealthy food, and my activity level was low...it wasn't anyone's responsibility to encourage me to lose weight by offering me money or a prize. My encouragement was my health and my apperance. If people aren't willing to get into shape for themselves...so they can (hopefully) live a longer and healthier life, feel better, and look better, then that's their issue...I think that's more than enough "prize" to me. ☺

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

I agree with "You're not perfect". You should do it just for its own rewards. If a person only did something because someone paid them, they'd be a lump just sitting around most of the time. That sounds boring to me.
