guys and girls: what kind of expectations do you have for your gf/bf?

My exboyfriend told me I expected too much from him. That was probably why he dumped me. So I was wondering what everyone else expects out of theirs to see if maybe I am expecting too much.

i have the same exact problem right now, except i'm still with my boyfriend.

i've just come to realize that it doesn't matter if i expect too much because one day there's going to be someone that will actually deliver. there's going to be a guy who loves me enough to do whatever i ask (within reason).

my boyfriend? he loves me, but he's not that guy. and your ex-boyfriend? he says you expected too much from him because it's true. but he's the wrong guy for you and that's the point. when it's the right person, it won't be considered too much.

when you want to make someone happy, too much doesn't exist and your ex-boyfriend apparently wasn't as concerned with your happiness. you're better off.

I expect my man to have a decent job, to pay his own way. I want him to respect me and respect himself. He should have good character: integrity, honesty and kindness.
He should also have a serious relationship with God.
Anything above and beyond that are just extras.
