My group's favorite was "Busy Busy Bumblebee". They insisted on singing it every day all year long! I learned it from a Headstart program in the U.S. Only the first two lines are sung, and I'm sorry - I don't know how to tell you the tune. Just make it up. Kids won't care.
Busy Busy Bumblebee
Who can say their name for me? (point at a child)
(Child says name "x")
Let's say "x"
(all say "x" together)
Let's clap "x"
(say "x" and clap with syllables)
Let's shout "x"
(shout "x" together)
Let's whisper "x"
(whisper "x" together)
Another great one is "The More We Get Together". The version I'm most familiar with is by Raffi. You can hear a sample clip here if you don't know it http://ca.music.yahoo.com/release/48974
The more we get together, together, together
The more we get together the happier we'll be
'Cause your friends are my friends
and my friends are your friends
The more we get together the happier we'll be

Well, you can talk about what day of the week it is (have a chart that someone can put 'today' on the right day) and then sing the "7-days in a week song". It's to the tune of Oh My Darling Clementine. It goes:
There are 7 days, there are 7 days, there are 7 days in a week.
There are 7 days, there are 7 days, there are 7 days in a week.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Have fun!!

When I taught preschool, my kids used to love 'Where is (child's name)' ***the where is thumbkin song using the child's name instead****.
The 7 days a week song is great and can be extended.
**tune of 7 days a week***
^There are 12 Months...^
There are 12 months,
There are 12 months,
There are 12 months in a year.
There are 12 months,
There are 12 months,
Listen close and you will hear....
January, Feb, March, April, May and June
July, August,Sept, Oct, Nov and Dec
(tick the months off on your fingers and when you get to Nov and Dec use one foot for each).
I was trying to teach my Pre-Ks their months in an easy way and I came up with this song. We would sing it every morning with all our other songs and they were so proud when they could tell me what month we were in without help.

Take a look at this web site:
http://www.preschooleducation.com/
click on Music and Songs and you'll find lots of songs and finger plays for this age group. The Back to School section has some fun name games you might want to use. This is good source of all kinds of songs and finger plays. I hope you enjoy the site!

Wheels on the bus, its bitsy spider, look on websites like coordinated child care, and go to preschool stores. Do you have any books at the school. One I liked was a bout a little bear or something dont remeber but it was cute.

We use a song that uses hello in different languages.
Hello how are you, hello how are you, how are you today friends..
Hola how are you, hola how are you, hola how are you, how are you today friends?
Bonjour how are you, Bonjour how are you.......
You can use any language that the children could easily pick up on, we also use a Chinese and German greeting but I don't know how to spell them.

"The more we get together" for the greeting then maybe move into a quick "Head Sholders, Knees & Toes" to get rid of the 'wiggles' before they sit.
