some of the bigger companies will provide cars for the claims reps and the inside sales reps. but the agents are on their own. however, the milage is tax deductible.

No. Companies will have a fleet, and usually provide a vehicle for their MARKETING REP, but their AGENTS are pretty much all "commission only" subcontractors, who run their OWN offices.

Not to say that a specific office doesn't provide cars for their agents, because a lot of them do. But it's not the COMPANY providing the car.

When I worked for Sentry Mutual, they had company cars available for agents with a corporate gas card. Best benefit I every had. Most companies no, the best you can do is expense your mileage on your tax forms. Major scam, insurance companies make billions and agents get to incur all expenses.

Most captive agents "own" their agency and thus incur all expenses associated with their business. Like captive agents, brokers incur all their costs. So typicall no.
