What kind of Gi do people recommend for Point spar tournaments?

i want to buy a new Gi a good one. which ones are good brands?

Well I always loved my Mitsobosi GI. It is rather expensive at about $150-200 a GI, but they are heavy duty and crisp.

When you throw a punch or a kick you can hear it snap. It also looks good and not like a rag hanging off your body no matter how much you sweat.

Their are a couple others, Takaido Gi's are also good.

Best of luck, and also they are AWESOME for doing Kata in tournaments due to the crisp snap they make and they last a life time and do not tear or rip easily. Well worth the money.

I prefer middle weight elastic waist uniforms for sparring since they are a little cooler and usually carry one in my bag and use a heavy weight traditional one for kata and weapons. At national tournaments I would always carry two and if I made it into the night time finals then I would have a clean, fresh uniform to put on for fighting. Century makes a number of middle weight, wash and wear, that are the traditional type top and pants in several colors as well as some customized ones with pull over v-neck or rounded neck tops.
