it really depends on what state you live in. I live in Florida, and in order to get married in a courthouse or where ever, you need a marriage license. For just the license, it costs $100. And to get married in a courthouse I believe it costs an additional $30. But you do have to wait 3 days after getting your marriage license before you can actually get married, unless you take a premarital course.

well i live in tuscarawas county ohio and its goin to cost $70 we're one of the highest rates. Now You still have to find a judge or someone of the sort to marry you and i believe you still need 2 witnesses.. You have to apply for the marriage license first though. Some places its a 5 day waiting period. Reception is all in your own hand. and Thats basically all i really know ;)

My mom and mother-in-law are the ones who want the reception. It's been 5 months and we're trying to put the reception off as long as possible. It's all about what you want though. I'm not one to gather attention so were having only close family gather in mid October for a mini ceremony (since I didn't invite them to my eloping) and party.

The wedding might be just the cost of the license, a blood test, and maybe a fee for the judge. The reception is entirely up to you. If you two don't want one - don't have one. A friend of mine married his wife on their lunch hour, then went back to work. For them, it suited them perfectly.
