We really need a bit more information that what you have asked.
You want to live her permantly - or on a working visa etc....?
A Working Holiday Visa is available to people between the ages of 18 and 30. Unfortunately, anyone over this age must have sponsorship in order to be able to work in Australia.
Australia's Working Holiday Visa allows you to supplement your travel funds while on extended holiday in Australia.
A Working Holiday Visa is only granted once and allows a stay of up to 12 months from the date of first entry to Australia, regardless of whether or not you spend the whole time in Australia. If you wish to return to Australia to continue working after this period, you must apply for sponsorship.
A Working Holiday Visa cannot be granted in Australia. All visa applications must be made overseas. A Working Holiday Visa can be obtained by making an application over the Internet to the Immigration Department at http://www.immi.gov.au or by lodging a written application at an overseas visa office.
For starting points though on how to work and live here go to :::
Immigration for Australia - http://www.immi.gov.au
Australian Government - http://www.australia.gov.au
Australian Tourism - http://www.australia.com
Working In Australia - http://www.workingin-australia.com and http://www.workpermit.com/australia/relocation.htm
this site is also great for 'plain english' terms on how to go about things.....

The biggest city is Sydney. This ciy would also get the most visitors. I would say most Aussies would head up to the Gold Coast- Surfers Paradise for holidays. Its like the Orlando of Australia they got Movie World, Dream World, Wet n Wild, Sea World. Festivals- Ive seen schoolies, boxing day(day after christmas), Big Day out.

G'day,
Just to add another info from KBear's answer:
You can also come as an international student. You will need to apply to the institution that you are interested to study in, get an offer from them, pay the required tuition fee, apply for your visa and come to Australia to study.
Hope this helps. E-mail me at mikegun(at)studentfirst.com.au if you have more questions abt study in Australia. Good luck and welcome to Australia :)

The first step is to buy a ticket, if you are travelling as a tourist.
If you want to work, try http://www.immi.gov.au , which will give you information about visas.
