I am not working right now and every month my father sends me money. I have a BF I don't think he minds.

Well as long as she's spending somebody elses money I guess I would be OK with it. But if daddy cuts her off I wouldn't give her a dime! I'd tell her to get off your A$S and get a job because two pay checks are better than one!

Absolutely, I would mind, I'm not going to support anyone that has the ability to support herself and chooses not to. If you're not working, going to school, taking care of children, or some combination thereof, you wouldn't last a week as my girlfriend. Earn your own spending money.

If your father sends you money, then he has a right to say how that money is spent, meaning that you had better maintain a healthy relationship with him if you wish to continue feeding off his generosity. In my view, the fewer people you need to depend on financially, the more independent you will be.

But if your boyfriend doesn't mind (and neither does your father), then what do you care what anyone else thinks?

I'd be ashamed of myself if I lived off hand outs from my father, grow up and take responsibility for yourself, get a job, spending money you have actually earned is so much better than spending money you have scrounged off someone else.
