i am a 22 yr old female. this morning i woke up and snoozed my alarm and went back to sleep. when i woke up 45 mins later i had wet the bed. pls tell me why!!! This happened one other time when i was in grade 6, so ages ago but then i was too old for it, and it happened then bcoz i dreamed i was on the toilet, and it has worried me ever since, coz i thought that could easily happen again, but i wasnt even dreaming that, i was having a very vivid dream that i was being chased by the police. does anyone know what this means? im really concerned. if it makes a difference, i am overweight, and just this week have started drinkinkg 2 litres of water a day. i used to only drink about 500mls but when i woke the first time i did not need to go to the toilet..........please be kind and help.

Chased by the police? Sounds a little scary, perhaps the dream affected you so much that it caused you to loose control of your bladder. I've known grown people who have been in scary situations and have wet themselves. I think it may have been just a bodily reaction to your dream, and it's absolutely nothing to worry over.

It also could be your body adjusting to the drinking of more water, which good for you! It's very healthy to increase your water intake. :) You'll be fine, just forget about it and move on. All in the past now.

Hi! I've been in dentistry for over 25 yeas and have heard this from other patients. The chase dream is the most common form of dream that humans have. I expect animals too. The dream was mainstream and you were frightened. Also because of your diet changes, your bladder has been trained to do as soon as you wake. The unconscious knew the alarm had gone off and the combination of the dream and your normal bodies reaction time(you have trained yourself to go first thing in the morning at a certain time, triggered this response. A psychiatrist couch in NOT necessary and I doubt you have a cyst or infection. Just forget it and let it go. I had a teenager wet the bed the first time he went away to Europe by himself. He dreamed he had missed the plane and terrorists were holding him hostage as an infidel. I would have wet the bed too!! I would forget it unless it develops as a pattern, then cut back on your water intact at night. M

I would say your body was probably ready to go when the alarm went off simply because your mind associates the alarm with a trip to the bathroom. When you hit the snooze, your bladder was full and decided it needed to go anyway.

I wouldn't worry about this one episode. The one from the 6th grade doesn't even count. I wouldn't even be concerned unless it happens again in the next few days or weeks. Just be sure to go to the bathroom right before bed since you are drinking extra water.

There are a number of reasons for this, in order to solve them you'd have to spend time on a psychiatrists couch, you can save time by seeing a doctor and getting a pill now, there is treatment for this. If it continues to happen have a through examination. You could have a "tipped" bladder, an infection, a cyst, a number of thins that could cause this but, you'd have to see th doctor for it.
In the meantime if it keeps happening you can buy the pads for adults until your appointment.

It could be that because of your weight your bladder is small in relation to your body size, especially with the extra water you are drinking. I would stop drinking after 7 pm. If it continues see your doctor.
