Dandruff is a combination of skin scaling and fungal infection, I don't really understand where you think the midges come in to it?

I don't think midges cause dandruff but some of the repellents might. Avon skin so soft bath oil applied all over body, works well as a repellent and should help the dandruff.

Midges are nothing more than small flies. They cause no harm to humans, they may make you itch if they land on you. Dandruff is caused by dry scalp.
Get a dandruff shampoo like "Selson Blue" or something on that order, stay away from these new shampoos full of perfumes and other scalp drying items.

Switch your shampoos from time to time until you find one that's not drying.
