it's mainly the christian folk who don't understand this.(some, not all) my goal is to help them see the TRUTH. the truth being that there are many valid beliefs and ways to the divine, and even atheists are valid in their non beliefs.

I believe in the inherent worth of every person. People are worthy of respect, support, and caring simply because they are human. We are all part of humanity and in such we should respect others as much as we respect ourselves. I would hope that since this is the Religion and Spirituality Section those who visit here are in some way in touch with their spirituality and would show more compassion than those who do not.
Bright Blessings.

Thank you for this question. Yes, I am aware that there are literally thousands of belief systems around the world. I accept all positive paths as valid, and I don't feel that others have to believe what I believe. Respect and Acceptance should be the key to communication here. Unfortunately, too many here use this forum and the anonymity of the internet to beat up others and take out their frustrations on the rest of us.

I'm really starting to think that there should be a section specifically for fundamentalists. Maybe then we would not be attacked simply for our different beliefs, our questions would go through and we wouldn't be reported simply for the reason that we are "non-believers. This way the tolerant Christians could stay here and we could have real religious debates and not a bunch of childish name calling and reporting for no reason what so ever!

Do you know what "spirit" actually means? A spirit is a living, intelligent, incorporeal being, such as an angel or the spirit of a human being wchi lives on after the body has died.
The word "spirituality" is often misused in this country to describe some sort of "feel-good" experience, or some other such nonsense.

More than I ever dreamed when I came here a year ago...I have learned a lot but the beliefs are so numerous I think it will take more than a life time to get a decent understanding of them all. I am so glad I clicked that icon last August.

I was not aware due to the fact that I have been spending most of my time dancing naked around a fire. Spirituality did you say? Good god! lol
Just found out that not only is there more than one religion, but there is more than one god. Back to the fire with me. Blessed Be.

Well said. But don't forget those who lack belief in religion and spirituality. We are affected greatly by religious beliefs in our lives. That is why we are so interested in this section.

Question back at you... Is anywhere in the physical world (as opposed ot the spiritual world) a friendly, non-threatening place where anyone can share their views without the threat of persecution? Internet - Physical Mind - Spiritual It is only when we release the physical that all places stop being unfriendly and threatening to ourselves; and it is then that we share our views in humility.

Yes. There are true religions, false religions, and things that attempt to 'pass' for religion yet fail miserably.
Differentiate between 'religion' and 'traditions of men',
If your spirituality is based on traditions of men it's going to leave you wanting sooner or later because men and their traditions are inherently fallible.
