But I want to know where satan came from, if there is any proof that all the stories there were true(except the jesus thing, we already kno he is true,)

I'm sorry, if you don't want me to 'blab' about my religion I really can't answer your question properly but I will try. You're making big assumptions that the Bible has been changed to make people hate those of other faiths. I would be surprised if you could find a part of the Bible (without taking a tiny bit out of context) that supported that view. It is dangerous to believe what you hear the Bible says without finding out for yourself. The church throughout history has preached many wrong teachings. The crusades were wrong, for example.

The Bible has been written over a huge period of time. The early books were written by Moses thousands of years ago. The final book, Revelation, was written by John many many years later. For a history of dates etc. a quick net search should fix you up.

But about where Satan came from. Satan was an angel, Lucifer. He did not like to conform to what God had planned so he used his free will to leave heaven, persuaded a third of the angels to come with him, and generally try to take as many lives for himself as possible. Satan represents all that is evil.

I am interested that if you believe Jesus is true, why you are so negative about the Bible.

Hope this helps

If one word of the bible is wrong or a lie it all is.
Yes I know the history of how the bible was written and assembled, do you? More importantly I know what is inside. Do you?
If the Jesus thing is true than so is the Satan thing. Try studying the bible and learn the truth and quit listening for or expecting others to do your homework.
Isn't it snack time or something?

The King James version first went to press in 1611,it had 44 authors. The old testament I do not know, from some reading I picked up maybe around the 1100.

Agreat book to read on this as far as the new testament is concerned anyway is The Case For Christ. Italks all about where and when and by whom the new testament is written. It also talks alot of archeological finds that support both the new and old testiment events and places. Also watch the naked archeologist on the history chanel that will tell you a lot.

Satan (Lucifer)Gods highest angel created
several thousand years ago.
Lucifer was in charge of all of gods angels
in heaven before the earth was created.
God runs heaven like many businesses are
ran today through a chain of command, well
Lucifer was the manager.
Somehow Lu had a fallen out with god and
in the process got a few angels to side in with him, and what do you know a war starts in heaven over principalities, its pretty
evident that the boss is a perfect visionary
and the manager hates his way of thinking.
So the manager says "You suck as a boss!!!" Ill do your job and ill be more down to earth at it!!!Where we all can be on the same page.....
And the boss said "thats it" Im creating a week to take off on..
7 days later the boss comes back.
Alright you back stabbing liar!!! there I made a place for ya... you wanted to be down to earth in your way of thinking, well there it is and you can take all your brown nosers with you..So the boss fires the manager and 1/3
of the staff, so there goes the manager right out the door with his new business associates.
And right after the last angel is kicked out the boss says with a real loud voice, oh
it just looks beautiful wait till you meet Adam and his wife Eve, Ill be watching all
you guys especially you Mr. Lu Ill be following up on what a great job youll be doing down there being god, thats what you wanted.
4000 years later the manager runs into vice president sitting on a rock in the desert, and says to the him well look its all mine, and
Ill give you all of it if you will go ahead and take my old managers position.
Ha Ha Ha get out of here you fool, "said the V.P." You couldnt run your own nose,
look at all the miserable people some god you turned out to be.
Get out of my site said the V.P.
Several days later the V.P. is nailed on a cross and says to everyone Im taking the place of your boss Lu.... when i die if your
willing to let me be the boss when Im ressurected I promise youll have a better boss and wont be miserable anymore.
And so the legacy continues....

Some of the stories in the bible were taken from old myths - many started in the oral tradition (which of course means they got scrambled around like a game of 'telephone').

The original story of the satan or 'Lucifer' falling from grace was actually about a king who fell from power.

If you do a little research, you will find out that Jesus was not the first 'son of god' to be born of a virgin, be betrayed, killed, and come back to life three days later.

That story predates the supposed 'birth' of Jesus by thousands of years.

'Revelations' doesn't describe 'end times' as christians claim - instead it was a scathing critique of the leaders of that time, but had to be written in a way to keep the author from being tried for treason.

Well check out anything that is associated with the Romans (Constantine) around the 3rd Century. Look in Jeremiah Ch. 10 and read. This is about an ancient paganistic practice that God condemned before Jesus walked the earth and pagans of the past (way after Jesus departed) made it part of the Christian Faith (many people are shocked once they learn this but some persist to continue do so read 2Kings Ch. 17 v34-51). Hopefully this will lead you in a direction to answer any and all questions you may have about the bible and who and why they changed it. "Satan" is/was not an angel as they say. Angels are beings that were created to serve God. Satan was a different form of creation called a jinn. His hatred for humanity started with Adam (of course). Adam was elevated above him in status and he was jealeous and prideful about the situation. He rebelled against God's Command and swore to destroy Adam and his offsprings. The main sin that Satan brings to man is to have them turn to away from their true nature and to worship other things other than their true God. He knows that if he gets humanity to worship false dieties he has achieved a great deal of loss to mankind. If we die on worshipping anything other than God (Deuteronomy 8:19) we will be ruined. So know that he is an open enemy to humanity and a great liar and deceiver so beware of him and do not worship anything other than God! I didn't mention my religion or "a" religion. So I didn't breach your request. But I hope it answered your question about Satan the liar with many names.

Very impressive answers from Fo and Martin S. The thumbs down is an equally impressive display of the level of ignorance.

THe Jewish people passed their history down orally, until scribes came along. They used it as teaching lessons to instill what was important in their lives. (Proverbs, especially was important to teach the young men of the faith.) Most of the stories are true, but I'm certain that in the retelling, some of it may have been lost or altered, but nonetheless it is based upon fact. I cannot tell you (perhaps someone is more knowledgeable in this area) about when or where exactly the idea of Satan came into existance.

Read the Jewish version of the Genesis. You'll get the details of where Satan came from.
