As you may or may not know, when Spiderman 3 and The Bourne Ultimatum come out on dvd, Spiderman 3 will only be on blu-ray and Bourne will only be on hd dvd.

Which format will or have you chosen and which format will win out out in the end ? Right now I'm leaning toward blu-ray !

From all indications I've seen, it seems as though blu-ray has garnered a small lead due in large to Sony's click marketing by including adding a blu-ray drive to their PS3 game console. As of right now, I'd pick blu-ray as the new high def dvd format.

Samsung is at present making plans on liberating a hybrid participant which will play the two Blu-ray and HD DVD's. that's inevitable that different manufacturers will save on with extra healthful. probably, we'd finally end up with 2 formats for the lengthy haul which won't be an argument if hybid gamers and burners become an industry time-honored.

The Blu-ray format will win out in the end, it is currently supported by almost three times as many studios and companies. Blu-ray is also currently out selling HD-DVD by a ratio of 3 to 1.

They both support 1080p and look identical when viewing. it's a matter of what name you like better.
Sony wants everyone to believe that blue ray is better but in reality they are the same thing. The only difference is storage

HD can hold about 30g's and Blue Ray about 50 but a two hour movie is a two hour movie regardless.

Sony needs everyone to buy blue ray so they can sell the ******* ps3 it's sick I don't own either my hts8100 upscales to 1080p and it's not as good as hd and or blue rays but it's pretty ******* close.(picture is amazing imo) When this system dies in about 5 years I will see whats what and upgrade to the new thing.

I've given Sony enough of my money so I'm going HD DVD.

Seeing that they have already made players that can play both types, I couldn't care less about their petty fight.

Both formats are almost pointless, and will be for years to come.
