If you own one of the other new brands you mention you could approach the dealer and ask if he's willing to sell them.

Approaching many of them you'll find a few that are willing to stock them.

Otherwise if you're just a customer you might be able to ask why they don't have a certain brand but there probably isn't going to be much you can do. If you want a certain brand you'll just have to go to a store that sells them where ever that happens to be.

Offer to give the dealer some product to stock. If they cannot sell it in a time frame that is predetermined by the two of you, you will take it back. Stress that it is "No Risk" to them. Then encourage friends and family to go this store and ask a lot of questions about your product and seem very enthusiastic. Maybe even have one or more of them make a purchase, if feasible. It seems counterproductive but this makes the dealer see your product as something that people are interested in. You're creating your own "BUZZ".
Also don't be afraid to play up the angle about being a new company and that this dealer would be helping you out. People, in general, love an underdog and want to be able to help them succeed.
Another thing I would suggest is watching The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch weeknights on CNBC. He is a great resource of marketing ideas for upstart businesses.

I think one way would be price as most well known names are well over priced,if you explain to him his customers who are on a budget could buy your product at a better price and still got the same quality of product as the the top dogs.In stead of losing the customer who is on a budget he would be helping them and still would be making a profit.
