I want to create a photo book from my holiday pictures, but i want to be able to write more than just a caption to go with the pictures - sort of like my diary from the holiday.

Can anyone give suggestions on how best to do this.

Thanks

Yeah, I'm not the arty type *jane* did think on that one - trying to leave it as a last resort, go a few hundred photos too (so it would take ages)

The 2 best that I have come across are:

www.mypublisher.com
www.asukabooks.com

MyPublisher has templates and such, or allows for free form. Full page bleeds(meaning the image fills the whole page, no borders).

Asuka Books offers the same, but you have to do a lot more manual setup, plus they are more expensive, almost double.

The quality of either is fantastic.

There are many sites which offer digital photo books. Shutterfly, Snapfish, MPix, and Kodak among others. My favorites are www.blurb.com, and www.bephotobooks.com. I have seen product from both, and printed my own at bephotobooks and was very satisfied with the product. You just go to the website, download the software (free), create your book then upload for publishing. Easy-peasy!

Digital scrapbooking is easier than paper scrapbooking, you don't have to cover the dining room table with art supplies!

Edit:
Asukabooks are indeed nice, they cost quite a bit, and they only sell to professional photographers. Not sure about mypublisher, but I guess they sell to consumers.

Creative memories has everything from digital story books to traditional scrapbooking. The whole company is all about scraping. The software is free to download if you go digital. If you go traditional it can be pricey but they have the best books and papers. You may not be really crafty but if you go that route you can host a party with the company and invite all your friends over to help you knock it out quickly! Not to mention have a great time! And for hosting a party you get free stuff!

Buy one of those big fancy scrap book type things and you can put as many pictures on one page, like a colage and write whatever you like. If you're not the arty type though it could go wrong :-S
