To maintain a healthy lifestyle & get in shape try this:
Try making small changes, if you really love a certain food that is ok, just cut down your portions, you don't need to deprive yourself to be healthy.
As for your overall diet try to cut down on your calories, eat lean protein, and whole grains - bread is not bad, so long as it is whole grain & high in fiber, also eat your veggies & drink lots of water. Also lean calcium products such as yogurt, low fat milk & cheese fill up with low calories & high nutrition content. Cut out saturated & monosaturated fats & excess sugar
For snacks I eat a lot of fruit & veggies as snacks, baby carrots, snap peas, grape tomatoes, grapes, berries, peaches. I also love the Flat Earth veggie & fruit chips, Quaker ranch rice cakes, popcorn, whole grain crackers, dark chocolate, blue diamond nut thins & string cheese. These are all small snacks with low fat & low calories.
It is best to eat 1200-1500 calories per day, if you eat less than this your metabolism will slow down, making it harder to lose weight. NO fast food. don't drink empty calories, stick to water, low cal juices (I mix 100% juice w/25% water to lower calories) & low fat milk. no soft drinks (diet or regular)
no eating unless you are hungry!
That being said, never underestimate the power of a good workout routine. In order to be healthy you MUST make time to exercise. Not exercising is not an option if you want to be healthy.
Lots of Cardio & weight training. do 30-45 minutes of strength training 3-4 times per week followed by 45-50 minutes of cardio 5-6 times per week. do your strength training 1st, it burns more calories. I also do loads of crunches prior to & after cardio. Also walk more during the day. Take a walk on your lunch break, walk to the store, aim for 10,000 steps per day a pedometer is a great idea. The more active you are the more calories you will burn & the more weight you will lose.
To stay healthy & not get discouraged remember this:
It is not recommended that you lose more than 2-3 pounds per week. Rapid weight loss can be dangerous & is hard to maintain. losing weight is difficult because 1 lb is 3000 calories, so you must burn 3000 calories per pound you want to lose.
If you really want to lose the weight you are going to have to use discipline & work hard. Your health is worth it!

I have recently started trying to lose weight and for the first time in ages succeeded!. I gave myself very small targets at first and then gradually building up. For example, I tried to get through the morning on the first day without snacking and once I had mastered that moved on to include the afternoon and then after a few days the evening as well. I soon found that I was able to get through the days without snacking which was a great milestone to pass as I would previously graze all day if given the chance. I did the same with sweeties and biscuits, cakes and anything else you might consider unhealthy. Giving myself small targets to beat made it easier and I found I felt better about my ability to beat this as I was reaching achievable targets and not failing and giving up too easily. Once I had stopped snacking and eating crap, I then gave myself the target of being snack- and goodie-free for three days telling myself that I would allow myself a treat on that fourth day. To be honest, though, when I saw I had lost 6pounds in those three days I didn't bother and carried on as I had been, telling myself I would have a treat in a week's time. I haven't felt the need for that treat yet and am still going strong. I eat plenty of salad, vegetables, lean meat and fish, the odd oatcake or ryvita and one bowl of cereal a day. I do not feel the need for anything else and the weight is slowly but surely dropping off. Good luck!!

Cut out on all 'white' foods and eat wholegrains instead such as wholemeal bread & pasta, brown rice and porridge oats.
Always make sure that you have 3 main meals everyday and drink plenty of water. Believe it or not, It's actually quite important to snack reguarly (and healthfully) as it keeps your energy levels high and also means that you never go hungry. Things like fruit, nuts, seeds and granola bars.
You don't necessarily have to adopt a vigorous exercise programme down at gym in order to help shift the pounds. Simply walking to places more often is a great way of keeping in shape (if you use public transport for try getting off a stop early for example, and use stairs instead of taking the lift) and going swimming a couple of times a week is really effective too.
Good luck.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%.
Chew each morsel at least 32 times. Do not touch articles of food or the cutlery in between. This will activate ur body to generate strong signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks (minimum 20 min duration) regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry. It is however to be noted that one cannot change the shape or size of different parts of the body.

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/BgMIW
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

Low Carb Dieting Tip
Your rate of metabolism dictates how many calories you burn. Heredity, gender, age, body size. diet and nutrition, activity level, and your overall health factor in on determining how high or low your metabolism is. It is normal for metabolism levels to lower as a person ages. Because of this it is important to begin stepping up your exercise routines in your thirties and forties.
Ways to Boost Your Metabolism
Eat Regularly - Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day will give you energy throughout the day--helping you to burn calories. Whereas, calories eaten during larger meals tend to get stored as fat.
Maintain a Balanced Diet - Not only how often you eat is important, but your food choices are equally as important. Nurture you body with the appropriate balance of protein and carbs.
Eating whole foods rather than processed food gives your digestive system a workout that burns calories. For example: choose an apple over apple juice.
Workout with Weights - Building muscle mass will replace stored fat. As you build muscle tissue your metabolism increases.
Don't Forget Cardio - You need to get that heart rate up and breathe a little heavier. Twenty to thirty minutes of cardiovascular activity 5 days a week is recommended. Brisk walking or swimming are good. Or utilize exercise equipment (exercise bike, treadmill, or elliptical trainer).
