He took the effort to appear to St. Paul and a load of other people after the ressurection so why not me and you?
Why did he appear to those people? Was it because he knew that by appearing, they would beleive that he was who he claimed he was?
If that's the case why doesn't he appear to me? He MUST know (being omnipotent) that I don't believe. But he must also know that I want to believe (who wouldn't want Heaven?), and that if he appeared to me in the way he did the Biblical people, I would believe in him and follow all the teachings.
So why doesn't he show himself? Don't tell me he speaks to our hearts or any other nonsense. He may well do that, but I mean physically appearing so I can see with my own eyes. Just like he used to do.
And before you say 'You must find him yourself', St. Paul didn't did he? Jesus showed himself. He SHOWED himself to others too, so why not me?

Buffhead - He isn't. My eyes are open all the time I am awake. This is what i'm talking about. I don't mean 'spiritually' show himself. I mean PHYSICALLY show himself. Actually have the light bounce of his body and go into my pupil then get bounced off my retina etc.
He's done it in the Bible so why not now?

Fruitypebbles - I suggest you read the question before answering. I said I want to believe, therefore your answer is irrelevant and does not answer the question asked.
And of course I would believe if some guy appeared right in front of me right this second

Fruitypebbles - And why do you think he only appears to those seeking him? St. Paul was not seeking him at all, he was a non-believer, yet Jesus showed himself. Answer me that, I challenge you.

John D - I suggest you are the one being dumb, sir. You DON'T need faith in order for Jesus to appear in human form. Read the story about St. Paul...

nerdinpink - So why did he show himself to others? why did he go around saying he was the son of God and performing miracles? Surely if he doesn't want us to KNOW, then that is crazy because he told everyone at the time

Like a Rolling Stone - you are incorrect. Jesus appeared AFTER he lived on the Earth too, once he had be killed and resurrected. So why not do it now?
And besides, Columbus is not supposed to be an almighty being.
And Jesus DID appear after his death, so it is perfectly acceptable

Nice idea. If Jesus were to appear to you, others would ask why did He appear to you and not them? Everybody that ever lived=billions and billions of people, could all say that if Jesus didn't personally, physically, appear to them, they wouldn't believe. A person could say that they never saw Christopher Columbus and if Columbus didn't personally come to their house, they won't believe he discovered America. Jesus lived on earth at that point in time and in that area. That's when He was personally seen. Just like you live in this time and in the place you live, is the only time when people can physically see you. In a manner of speaking, Jesus can be seen through the eyes of faith. That is part of the reason for the Church, Christian writings, the Bible, etc.

You're a scoffer. You would not believe even if he appeared before you right this instant. You could deny what was plainly before your eyes and convince yourself it wasn't true.
You must "hunger and thirst" then you will be filled. Do you WANT to believe? Do you recognize a need for a savior? Do you want to know God? If the answer is yes, then you will know Him. He will never reject someone truly seeking Him.
Why? Because He loves you. Really.
And if you are seeking, truly seeking Him, don't get discouraged. I know that He will reveal Himself to you. Keep on seeking, cry out, let go of self and fall on your face before Him. You will not be put to shame. He will satisfy... and fill your heart... and you will never be the same!
edit: Look at what Paul (Saul) had witnessed. The slaying of Steven, a servant of God, right before his eyes. Read the entire account in Acts chpt. 7. Do you not think that this entire episode could have continued to haunt him, even as he himself persecuted Christians. I'd like to submit that it did. Jesus asked him (Saul) was it hard for him to "kick against the goads". Well to be in direct opposition to the Holy Spirit- and I believe his own conscience- was what Jesus was refering to. Do not think for one moment that Saul was not beginning to be aware of the fact that there might have been something to this claim of Christ and was not struggling, on some level, to reconcile this conflict within himself. So, believe me, along with the prayers of the saints for his soul, I believe he too must have began to question. And that's what you need. Prayer. And to seek the truth earnestly. Hebrew 11:6 says that them that come to God must first believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
God Bless. I'll pray for you.

i'm a believer personally.
and it's a good question.
your right it would make it alot
easier to believe in him.
but i think God and/or Jesus would rather
you believe in him without that,
which yes makes it harder but almost
the whole deal of the faith.
i was never raised with a church going family
i just kinda turned to the Lord for a comfort reason
and slowly got more into it.
i'm not a hardcore hilary fae type tho..
but damn if he had to appear to EVER "non-believer"
he would one hell of a sunday wouldn't he :D
p.s. haha i admit tho some of the athiest or other religion ppl
have funny answers. "..update the bible.." haha
and think about it, (humor me for a sec)GOD didn't write
the bible. GOD inspired the bible, MAN(whom we know as a fact
are flawed)
did write it, that's why some of the things in the bible i believe
are just silly.

Jesus mentioned the worldwide might under no circumstances see him lower back. John sixteen. some declare Revelation says he would be considered lower back. a million:7. however the unique readers of Revelation have been very attentive to the previous testomony. they might as we communicate understand the passage in Revelation as an allusion to an experience defined in Daniel 7. they might additionally understand that Daniel makes use of the word "coming near the clouds" particularly to verify with an experience in Heaven, not and experience in the worldwide. so as that's the way the unique Christian readers might understand Revelation and comparable passages in Matthew. those with constrained Bible awareness make all kinds of fake assumptions by utilising not putting each and every thing jointly, like a jigsaw puzzle; which actually provides in straight forward terms one clean photograph once you make the hardship to right carry jointly each and every thing.

Are you sure he did? That means you're believing the Bible (capitalized for your viewing pleasure). I wasn't there for St. Paul's viewing, but, I'll bet that's written for the sake of the (then) non-believers....they were very easily coerced back then.
You mention that you WANT to believe. Then do it. Practice his beliefs. Jesus was a great man....selfishness and greed escaped him. Your "want" sounds just a little selfish, to me.

Only the CERTIFIED WHACK JOBS have relations with Jesus.
Hey, would it be homosexual if you used the piercing holes in his body? You know for a fact he was straight packing junk in the disciples' trunks...
