ranger vs SF(Special Force)?

which one makes more money?? i'm not going to go to army school thingy, i just wanna make much $$ as possible b4 i join police by serving 4 yrs

What kind of a fool asks a question like that. This question hardly deserves an answer, of course special forces make more, its not allot more, but they are better trained seeing as how the second guy is right buddy, you have to go to ranger school before you can do special forces, either way your not going to making allot of money, if your only planning on serving 4 years then special forces is not for you, become a ranger

First of all the military doesn't need soldiers just looking for a free ride and the military surely doesn't need a person that is looking for a trade that wants more money. The money is in reinlistment bonuses. Not just joining to make money.

If you have the talent and you will need to loose the hesitation then you may want to first look into trying to be Airborne. SF soldiers must first become qualified as Airborne while Rangers do not need the Airborne pre requisite. Rangers and Special Forces are great and they each have their own special mission but if I had to do it all again I will remain an SF soldier.

If you want something you can take with you after you get out assuming you want a short tour you will need to look into something such as an Air Traffic Controller or something else along that line.

Both Rangers and SF are what the Army calls, STRAC Troops, both specializing in their fields, You do have to go through Ranger,Infantry to get to SF. If you're doing it for the money, don't even bother, it will just be a waste of time for you and the Army. From being in the Military and Law Enforcement background I would advise you just to take criminal justice and get picked up by a police department, but if you are going into the Police force for the "Money", the same advice goes as for the military because it's more than just carrying a gun and getting good pay and thinking you are cool, you would be sadly jolted into reality real quick. Think it over and make sure your heart and mind are in the right place. Good Luck.

you can try to make it as a ranger or s.f. solier, but thatonly means you will get a chance to do so--doesnt give you a free pass.

And by the way it sounds, you wouldnt make S.F.
You dont have the mindset.
Plus, you dont have the brains ot know you dont join S.F. and join up to be a ranger for money!

You can enlist and get guaranteed to go to R.I.P.
but theres only a few people who actually make it that way, and get sent into a ranger Bat, vs those who wont handle the ranger indoct process.
But try it if you think youre up to it.

Best to keep people like you as far away from battle. Because those seekiing money fame and recognition like you seem to be, are the ones who either freeze up under stress, or end up doing somethignstupid and getting the guys next ot you in trouble.

Id explain the different function between an S.F. soldier and a ranger,but its not worth it -- to someone just in it for the money.

Ive seen too many guys like you talk the big game, and couldnt make it past RIP or make excuses why they cant get past the Q course.

The missions are different. I was a ranger in the 3rd Bat. We respect the SF and they respect us. As for the $, there is not going to be that much of a difference. If you are joining spec ops for the $, you are weak-minded. You need yo self-evaluate and figure out why you are thinking how you are.

I hope you never join my department. I am proud of my service, but common sense is the most important tool to have as a Police Officer. If you want to be a Cop for the glory- you suck. As for the $, it sucks too. Do something because you want to, not for the $. I will die happy and not rich.

You have to have gone to ranger school before you can even be accepted into the Special Forces. So it doesn't take a lot to figure out who gets more. I know there is jump pay, but I know of no such thing as Ranger pay!

Here are actual qulifications. I guess you don't need Ranger traing, but most I knew had it. A lot of time has passed!

When you are in specops you will take the SERE Course - In the extremely realistic Survival, Escape, Resistance, and Evasion (SERE) course, you will learn combat survival tactics., which is similar to Ranger training!

Though the Rangers are good, they are nowhere in the same league as Spec Ops!
