If you are doing this because you are working, regardless of if its at home or out of the home, then its not a bad thing to take him to his nanna's place. You and he are actually pretty fortunate to be able to go there and spend time with her. Lots of parents fork out $100+ a week for daycare. I would however, think about enrolling him to daycare 1 day a week, because at age two it may be good for him to socialise with other children his age and learn 'sociale etiquette'. I found that there is a certain point where playgroups and the like just don't cut it anymore as they are still with mum, nanna etc...and learning to play with other carer's and children without the parent present helps them overcome shyness, clingyness etc..
My 2.5yr old son goes to daycare 9am-3pm on mondays while my daughter is at school, and even though I don't work, I have found his social skills developing very well and I get the 6hrs break once a week!
Good luck

Are you a bad mother for supporting your child? Absolutely not. Working at home with a 2 year old would be nearly impossible. Further, you picked a perfect daycare. If you can't be with him, then the next best thing is a Nanna! It's a great bonding experience for both of them.

No, of course not. No one can get any work done with a toddler in the house. If you left him by himself in the backyard all day, then yes you would be! I assume he's getting lots of care from Nanna. They're probably both loving it. Even if you didn't work, you'd still need a break.

I think this is fine, especially since he is with family.
It's important that he can interact with other people.
I would even consider a play group or pre-school for a couple of hours one day a week so that he can interact with other children.
I'm considering hiring someone to keep my daughter for a few hours one day a week just so I can get something done around the house, or just read a book!

hey beautiful
your not a bad mother and dont ever make urself think that !!!
lots of people do that.. i take care of my brothers kids on a daily basis for at lease 13 hours !!
there is nothing wrong with that because you have to work... and you are taking the time to do your work that you cant get done when your baby is around.. when your baby is around spend as much time with your child as you can.....
wishing you all the best

no, this isnt a sign of being a bad mother. you work from home, with a two year old around, you wont get anything done unless you take him to the babysitter, and who better to babysit, than nanna?
if i could drop my 2 year old off at your nannas house too...i would :-D

if you're working then no, you are doing what you have to do to support your child and being responsible. if you said you drop him off 3 or 4 nights a week so you can go to a bar and drink i would think your priorities were a little off...
