I accidently deleted my music device driver? help.?

This is the error message i get but i dont have a disc to fix this problem and would have to rip all my work out of my computer & reboot but really dont want to have to do this so if any one can help...i'd appreciate it...Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

it's simple really, no need to get worked up.

Find the manufacturer of yoru sound device, go to their website, and download the driver, shjouldn't take more than a few minutes.

First, see what's the name of your computer. for example: dell inspiron 500, go to dell's website and look for drivers, specifiy the search for inpiron 500, you will find all the drivers, the video driver, the audio driver, the network driver, the modem driver, etc... you need the audio driver, download it and install it, restart, you should have the sound back, if you dont then u might have downloaded the wrong file, uninstall it and download another driver and try it.

Hiya! I did exactly teh same thing by mistake, and yes got exactly the same message!

My laptop is a HP, so i went to their site and found the 'audio driver' that i needed and installed it, it was woring again in seconds!

It was really easy on the HP website, not sure about others.
