oh Come on- you want serious answers- Dang, that is no fun- I was gonna suggest Carrie Underwood Before he Cheats. But since you insist on serious answers.
I would just say time. Just allow yourself time to grieve. Then move on. Go out with your friends, have tons of fun. Cry when you need to, but not all the time. After a few months, start dating other guys again. Just don't jump into another relationship out of loneliness, and don't rush things. Become friends with the guys you date, just form a great friendship, then let it develop where it will. That really will be the best thing.
After a while of just doing your thing, hanging out with friends, guys and gals, then one day you will realize that you are over him and you don't really miss him so much.
There is always going to be a special place in your heart for your first love. That will never go away.
If that doesn't work always remember, Ice Cream and Chocolate can make it all better.

Sometimes you don't, you just never get over it.
Here's a story for you, a true story. We'll call the female in the story "Jill." One day in early fall Jill heard a car outside and thinking her husband was coming home early, she looked out of her upstairs window. It wasn't her husband but it was the most glorious man Jill had ever seen in her life. He was moving into the townhouse two doors down while construction was being completed on his home --- the home belonging to him and his wife.
Making a long story short, Jill and Bo had an affair that lasted a year. Jill loved him (from first sight) so much she left her husband but Bo didn't leave his wife.
Even though she never saw him again, Bo never left Jill's heart. She got married a few more times but couldn't have lasting relationship --- all she ever dreamed about was Bo. Throughout the long, lonely years Jill kept thinking Bo was going to eventually leave his wife and come to her. She waited and planned for that day.
Last year Jill found out Bo had left his wife but he didn't come to look for her. He had married someone else.
Jill's 60 years old now and she has waited 30 (YES, thirty) years for the man she loves with all of her heart and she still hasn't released him from her soul. She says each after she goes to bed, she meets Bo in that special place before sleep finally comes.

my bf moved to LA the day after he told me that he had fallen in love with me.
I didnt leave my house for a while.
We dated for about a year and a half.
I did, however, vent my sadness by writing and sculpting

I went on vacation to Europe seven years ago, and I am Still on vacation! Or that is how my family in the states view it. "Where is Starjumper?" "Oh, she's still on vacation, recovering from a broken heart." LOL. But my broken heart led me to happiness and contentment, so I really should be grateful to He-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named....

I'm sorry for your blues. I can only pray for you that God will give you peace and comfort.
This is a hard one. Been there and it will pass.
Let His peace fill your heart as I pray for you .

Move on. I know it sounds harsh. Move on, go out, and meet new people.
