Let me preface my answer by saying that I'm answering for myself and only myself. That being said I'm Wiccan, that's a type of Pagan, and that is what I base my answers on.
1.That we worship Satan, are deceived, or are brainwashed.
I just say I don't worship Satan, as for the other any one who knows me wouldn't believe it. It's kind of sorry that people believe wives tales about baby sacrifices and wild sex orgies instead of asking a knowledgeable person what they believe and what they practice.
2.That I saw Charmed, Buffy, The Craft, Harry Potter, and etc. too many times, and follow what I saw.
First, Charmed and The Craft actually had consultants that are actual pagans. Second, just because I use the term Book of Shadows doesn't mean I don't know where the term comes from or that mine has anything to do with those that appear in fiction. Third, I can't speak for others but I watch occult shows for entertainment not to learn anything. And finally once and for all Harry Potter has as much in common with actual witchcraft as I have with the witches in Goya's Black Mass.
3. That I'm a witch I must be a goth, gay, easy, etc.
I understand that loads of people say they are witches and have no idea what the religion entails, so they do what they want and call it religion. Like that woman that said her son was practicing his religion by wearing black eye liner. I feel sorry for these people. Personally, my beliefs on the spiritual side of life is what makes me a witch, not my lifestyle choices.

hi! super question! I could desire to declare that the only extensive selection of false impression I hear is that One guy or woman's way is larger than yet another. i latterly grow to benefit that i'm no longer Pagan from a fellow Pagan, with the aid of fact this Sunday i'm getting married in a christian church, christian wedding ceremony..etc. I additionally get a brilliant form of nagging with the aid of fact i think that a Pagan can have faith completely in Christ, and be Wiccan. There are in basic terms too many stuff to point out.

people often think that witchcraft is like what they see on tv. i suppose i can't blame them. if that's their only source of information, then what else should they believe? they also think that you're a witch because you watch shows like charmed and harry potter. part of that problem stems from the "fluffy bunnies" out there. those are the people (often teenaged girls) who have seen the shows and want to turn their ex boyfriends into toads and think that's what witchcraft is all about. they wear black clothes and tell people they can do magic, when they have no idea what it means to be a witch.
anyway to dispel (pun intended) those misconceptions, i would suggest they go to http://www.religioustolerance.org/paganism.htm to learn about the different paths in paganism. for wiccans, there is a great little book called when someone you love is wiccan. i have used this myself, even though i'm not wiccan, because it just gives them a great summary of earth based religions.

Biggest misconception? That we're all histrionic, attention-seeking fluffs with huge persecution complexes. What would I say? That pagan religions have their fair share of nuts, flakes and fundamentalists, that we aren't superior, and that as a pagan I believe all religions are valid for the people who consciously choose to practice them.

That we're devil worshipers, which is completely ridiculous.
I deal with it on a regular basis not by preaching to anybody (I get PLENTY of that from religious fanatics) but just by acting like the decent person I am.

"New Age hippie"--Oh, really? So explain my gun, my love of NASCAR, and my politics.
"Devil worshipper"--That's a Christian deity.
"Devil worshipper who doesn't know they're worshipping the devil"--You could be making a mistake, too, you know.
"Goth/emo teenager going through a phase."--Which is why my favorite colors to wear are turquoise, green, and white, and why at age 33, I've been Pagan for ten years.

they aren't devil worshippers
they celebrate life (i.e. the egg)
Modern Christianity is mixed with pagan celebrations (christmas and easter, easter being the pagan celebration of life)
