My husband is in the Navy and we are staioned in Japan. But we are due to leave here in December 2008. And my husband's brother wants to join the Navy as well, but my question is if after my husband's brother finsishes boot camp, can we request a family co-location chit to be staioned at the same duty staion since they are brothers?

You can request it, but the needs of the Military will always come first.

As far as what Fire'n'Ice said about the Sullivan Act, he needs to find out exactly what it is. Brothers and sisters can go to war together. They have been all through OIF/OEF.

"There is no such act or law. However, after the Sullivan brothers were killed, there were several bills introduced in Congress that related to family members serving in a military unit together. None of these bills were enacted into law. However, there are military policies and directives to discourage immediate family members from serving together."

Brothers can be stationed at the same location, but I don't believe you could request to be stationed at the same location just because you are family. I would think the Navy is going to be the same way as the Air Force, "The needs of the Navy/Air Force come first." If there is no health reasons or dire need for the brothers to be stationed around each other for (one needs to take care of the other) then it is unlikely. But anything could happen, if you can request it then there is always that lucky possibility that you could get stationed at the same location. I still think it is unlikely, but sometimes you get your way in the military (rarely).

They are things that can only be discovered after hundreds and hundreds of trials. And of course, strict restriction needs to be in place. However, because the basis of science is always changing due to new discoveries, we need to also have sympathy to the drug company as well. They are not miracle makers, they only try to make profits by selling something that they "think" might help other people. Imagine the world without antibiotics and other medication, how many people would have to die? If we agree that science can be changed, the drug company might not have an excuse of increasing medication prices because of law suit. Also if we look at any other area that has used the socialist system it has bogged down and failed to live up to its Utopian promise. No system is perfect but open and free market is the best out there.

I believe that you can just so long as that base is not located in a hot zone or combat zone, then the Sullivan Act comes into play about the brothers being stationed at the same base.

NO, that isn't a valid reason to request a specific posting. It seems as if they have orientation issues .
