I am a Senior Citizen. I am residing at Chennai, Tamil Nadu India. Very recently I received a passport. In that passport Emigration Check not required page is ommitted. One of my friend told me without that we cann't board to air. What can I do. I checked in passport office they said senior citizen no need. that is correct or i need to get a clearence from emigration office at ashok nagar chennai. Please clarify me

For Senior Citizens does not require ECNR status while traveling outside India.

Moreover, as per the new passport regulation of India all are automatically entitled for the ECNR status. So you don't have to apply for the ECNR again and no need to get a clearance from the emigration office.

You need to go to Indian Immigration office and get an official reply.
