Pagoclone seems to be working for many stutterers. It is in phase III of studies right now. They need 1000 people in phase III so sign up and give it a try. Go to http://www.indevus.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=53&Itemid=58 to sign up. You can read more information about it here http://www.stutteringhelp.org/default.aspx?tabindex=515&tabid=525.

The best cure for stuttering is ear plugs. Sounds strange and I am not making fun.

When you can't hear yourself as well as without the plugs, you tend to speak slower and with less stutter. You can practice in the privacy of your own home. In time, your mind will stop misfiring and allow the connection from mind to tongue to work properly.

I learned about this because of my own stutter. Now, all I have is a stutter when reading out loud or when I let my mind go faster than my mouth can sound off!

Good luck. It worked for me!
