I'm not even strictly a singer - the only times I do find myself singing is in church. However, after I've finished I always find my throat hurting slightly...... I don't think this is normal, especially since this isn't choir singing we are talking about. I think part of the problem may be because I don't sing from my diaphraghm - but the problem is that I just don't know how.

Little help?

Maybe your throat didn't like the song you sang.

Singing is something that everybody can learn and improve. Of course, some are more naturally skilled than others, but even a poor voice can be overcome by dedication, practice, and more practice. Even if you're content to sing in the shower, there are some things you can do to improve your voice. This is probably the best online course to improve your singing skills https://tr.im/GrXol

Hi,you need to warm your vocals up before singing, also you need to keep drinking lots of water. You are probably singing too loud therefore pushing your vocal chords to the max, start by singing gentle,do a few gentle vocal exercises every day and this might help.Don't sing too early in the morning because this can also cause stress on your vocal chords if you are not a trained singer.Look on the internet on vocal exercises and proper breathing.Hope this helps.

i don't know. i had a 26 hour road trip from delware to florida and the only thing i could do from falling asleep and crashing to my death was singing on the top of my lungs. so in FL for the first couple of days my throat hurt and i had lost my voice. i bet its because we arn't trained to sing. like we only sing every once in a while like that. with your full body in it. like someone who sings all the time. they are used to it. but it could have something to do with not singing from the diaphraghm

it starts from the stomach up, so try to take not too deep breaths before singing. when you run out of breath repeat the step. Also sing at your tone, every voice is beautiful, so don try to sound like ur favorite singer or wutever out of your range. you can also train your voice by putting books on your stomach and sing a couple of tunes. Good luck on your voice. Remember that everybody is born with a beautiful voice all they need to do is just spill their emotions out and use proper vocal flow.

GOOD LUCK N LYFE

Wow! That happens to me too. I am a terrible singer. I think it is because I don't "open" my throat up. (My throat is sort of tensed up when I sing)

might have strained a muscle, just take a break from this for a couple of days or even a week

also recommend not to drink anything hot (coffee, tea)

Vocal strain from either having tension in your throat while singing, over-singing (too high, loud or long) or under-supporting (not breathing properly).

because you're straining your vocal chords. it'd hurt if you were out talking all day, or screaming at a concert--doing things you don't normally do with your vocal chords.
warm them up, drink warm fluids--people like hot tea and lemon.
