And if it's not a contradiction, why not?

No.
Michal had no sons through David.
She had another husband.

Michal married David.
Michal was taken from David and given to another man by her father Saul.
David took his wife back after Saul's death.
It was then afterwards spoken of her "she had no child (was barren) until the day of her death."

Keep looking though.
I am sure you will find something to convince you that you can ignore God.

Michal didn't physically Birth them, it says "whom she brought up for Adriel the Son of Barzillai the Meholathite" they seem to be his sons she must have married Him after leaving David... they mustn't have had terms such as "step-sons."(Not sure but that is how it looks...)

That my friend sounds like a grade-A contradiction. Unless, of course, that is another saul?

It states she "brought Up" which is different from she" bore". It would mean she raised these children but not necessarily gave birth to them.
