Sometimes we seek answers to problems in life but how do you know when God has answered? How do know when you have closed yourself up to what God really wants for you to do?

well first off you need to pray about it and ask God to lead you down the right path. There is a lot of chaos and it doesn't let up when you aren't doing the right thing, when you are things seem to turn around. For instance, you were able to handle your bills but now you have fallen behind from some bad decisions, if you pray to be lead back on the right path God will lead you there and you will start to see relief again. This has been proven over and over and over in my life in all forms not just money.

You will know when he has answered you if you pray for something that is in his will for you....You may pray to be married to a man who is not of faith and God may not answer that prayer...he wants what is best for you. Don't think he hasn't answered you, just because you didn't get the answer you were expecting.

First you have to be really sure you are in the will of God on what he wants you to do. My husband figured because he was a great singer and had sang in rock bands that God would really use him when he got saved. But for some reason he hasn't used him in that way. He has instead put the word in his heart so that he is a great witness for him..any place we go, I will miss him and he is on the other side of the room, talking to someone about the Bible...God is using him in a way he would never have imagined...he is a warm and friendly person, people are just naturally draw to him....,so God is using that trait instead...

I told you all that about my husband to reassure you that even if you feel you have closed him off,,,it may be, he wants you to go in a different direction..than you are expecting.

God answers the desires of our hearts every time we ask a question. You have to BELIEVE that you will get an answer and be ready to accept the answer. The answer comes in many forms,i.e. a song on the radio, a newspaper/magazine article, a comment a person makes, a thought you think, etc.... You have to be open to the answer and acknowledge the answer gratefully with a heart-felt "Thank you" in response.

All you have to do is listen to the desires of your heart, God puts them there.

When you stop hearing from Him. You have to have faith. He's a patient God and in turn we must learn patience.

Sin closes us off from God. The best way to find out is to search your heart and repent (turn away, not just be sorry) for any bad thought, word and deed. Start fresh every day and you'll soon see better. God's not the author of confusion and a broken and contrite heart He won't despise, if there is even a smoldering left in your soul to want to do right and be fulfilled, He is ready and willing to refresh you.

I have gone through life always wondering what my purpose was. At times I felt as though my life was being wasted away and I would never full fill Gods plan for my life. The past couple of years as I look at my children I now can see what His plan was for me.....it was them.
God knew my and my wifes personalities is just what He needed to raise the kind of kids we have.
They have focused on living their lives in ways to help the world become a better place.
As thet speak of this and I hear the real passion in their voice and look in their eyes, I have no doubt, my purpose in life was to raise these two kids and teach them all that God shared with me to teach.
Be patient, your time will come if you stay focused on Him. He never lets us down. Sometimes we quit Him, but He never lets us down.

Pray that God helps you to do whatever He wants you to do. Then listen. Just listen.
Remember, prayer is a conversation between you and God. In any conversation, the smartest person should do most of the talking. Is that you, or God?

Firm Christians tend to engage in what, in business terms, is referred to as BIRGing and CORFing, which stand for

Basking In Reflected Glory, and

Cutting Off Reflected Failure

When things happen to go well, people praise God and feel thankful that he answered their prayers. The bask in the reflected glory of their fortune.

When things happen to go poorly, they say God works in mysterious ways, or God is telling me to do something different. The cut off reflected failure of God to answer prayers.

I'm not saying that it's wrong to do this, necessarily, but to me it speaks to the importance of not becoming hung up on what is or is not handed to us on a silver platter. We still have to go out and fight for change in our own lives and try to make things better for ourselves and others. Life is not a matter of simple rewards and punishments from above. It's miserable until we figure out how to make it better.

If you have complete peace in your heart and mind, then you are in God's will. If it continues to bother you, then the Holy Spirit is trying to convict you. This applies to any area of life.
