I used to be addicted to purchasing those cookbooks. I now have a collection of well over 100 of them. I agree with one answerer stating that the recipes in those books are repeated in other issues -- Most of the time it's just small changes made in the recipe or just the name changes.

I have run across a few good recipes in some of them -- and most of the issues have cooking tips and info written in the margins.

If you are really thinking of buying one of them, my suggestion would be to leaf through it first and see if anything catches your eye before you fork over the 4 bucks.

Happy cooking!

P.S. Check out the websites for the publishers of the books and you just might find that eye catching recipe --- for free.

Well some of the recipes in those little things are pretty good. Considering decent cookbooks are usually between 25-40 paying 4 doesn't sound that bad. You pay 15 dollars in a restaurant for a meal.

I fall for those very occasionally while waiting in the checkout line. But they have to have 4-5 recipes I want for me to fork out the bucks. And most of the booklet is ads anyway, so it better be worth it!

My mother goes crazy over them. Most of the time its the same recipes over and over again. She has boxes and boxes of them sitting in a storage unit, most have only been leafed through
