Why do atheist answer religious Questions when they don't believe anything in religion or God?

This is the real reason but they will never admit it here.....I used to be an atheist before but thankfully not now, 100 % believer now and the atheists here that have not converted yet are only here for one reason, to learn more about God because they are fence sitters still not sure if they want to jump in. REAL atheists like I used to be would never hang out in a place such as this that is full of religion. in their questions and answers they will deny it but that is only so their friends that see their questions an answers will not make fun of them.they will put up a very strong anti-God front but a front is all it really is.....100 % here are secretly fence sitters,..no true atheists here so keep preaching, they really do want to hear it.....HOWEVER if you see violations of yahoo guidelines please report 100% of the abuses, they can sit on the fence but only decently !

You're making a common, yet untrue assumption.
Atheists are without the belief in God or gods. This does not mean that they are without spirituality and it most certainly does not mean that they are ignorant to religious teachings.
Many atheists I know have very strong spiritual lives (simply with the lack of belief that there is a god reigning over it all) and are very well read in religious books and, therefore, well qualified to answer questions on religion and God.

One can very easily turn your question around and ask why religious people answer questions on what atheists believe.
Same answer. Just because religious people do believe in God does not disqualify them from giving insightful answers.

Because we have the right to share our opinions and views regardless of what we believe or don't believe.....the only reason that some people would rather not us atheists answer religious questions is because they cannot accept anything out of their belief system as truth and some of them get all pissy about it when you say something that so much as contradicts their beliefs.

because like everyone else they think they are right but you do have a point on that a very good one, they really have no base to prove they know anything! They can't answer religious questions with knowledge or proof they just want to try, we can at least be comforted that they are accepting the fact that religion and God almighty does exist to most of the world and maybe someday someone will come into their lives helping them to find the right path. They are curious and curiosity kills the cat as we all know.

I suppose since I don't believe in Santa, I can't possibly know anything about Saint Nicholas? Or that I don't believe in the Greek Gods and Goddesses, so I can't know a thing about Greek mythology?
