Why do JWs use the term "The Truth" when talking about or referring to another JW? Do they think everyone else is stupid or lying?

You nailed it! They are the ones lying. I'll show you.

JW’s have their magazines, watchtower books, and the nwt which is a neutered satanic translation. These are additions to Scripture.

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Gal. 4:4-5

The Holy Spirit is a force, not alive, Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, pp.
406-407.

Scripture says…

1. Jehovah's Witnesses teach that the Holy Spirit is an active force like radar. They deny that He is alive, that He is a person. This is, of course, because they deny the Trinity. Yet, if the Holy Spirit is simply a force then...
1. Why is He called God (Acts 5:3-5)?
2. How is it that He can teach (John 14:26)?
3. How can He be blasphemed (Matt. 12:31,32)?
4. How can be the one who comforts (Acts 9:31)?
5. How is it possible for Him to speak (Acts 28:25)?
6. How then can He be resisted (Acts 7:51)?
7. How can He be grieved (Eph. 4:30)?
8. How can He help us in our weaknesses (Rom. 8:26)?
2. If the Holy Spirit is a force, then how is it possible that the above mentioned phenomena are attributed to Him? A force doesn't speak, teach, comfort, etc.
3. Nor can you blaspheme against a force.

There is no hell of fire where the wicked are punished, Let God be True, p. 79, 80.

Scripture says…

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8

Luke 16:19-31

In no way, shape, or form does JW doctrine align with the Bible.

And the LORD said to me, “The prophets prophesy lies in My name. I have not sent them, commanded them, nor spoken to them; they prophesy to you a false vision, divination, a worthless thing, and the deceit of their heart. Jer. 14:14

I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed. Gal. 1:6-9

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. 2 Cor. 11:13-15

But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 Pet. 2:1

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

To JW’s

Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth? Gal. 4:16

It is true Christianity (such as is practiced by Jehovah's Witnesses) which is understood to be "the Truth" and "the Way" referred to in the Scriptures themselves.

(John 8:31-32) Jesus went on to say...: “If you remain in my word, you are really my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

(1 Timothy 3:15) God’s household, which is the congregation of the living God, a pillar and support of the truth.

(Acts 9:1-2) the disciples of the Lord...who belonged to The Way, both men and women.

(John 14:6) Jesus said...: “I am the way and the truth

Incidentally, what does the bible say about those who actually 'work what is injurious' and suppress "the truth"?

(Romans 1:18,24) For God’s wrath is being revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who are suppressing the truth in an unrighteous way... God, in keeping with the desires of their hearts, gave them up to uncleanness, that their bodies might be dishonored among them, even those who exchanged the truth of God for the lie

(Romans 2:8-9) For those who are contentious and who disobey the truth but obey unrighteousness there will be wrath and anger, tribulation and distress, upon the soul of every man who works what is injurious

(2 Timothy 3:8) These also go on resisting the truth, men completely corrupted in mind, disapproved as regards the faith

It is perhaps anti-Witnesses who should renew their study of "the truth", recognizing that their months or years or decades of persecuting Jehovah's Witnesses have been unsuccessful. Their knowledge and willingness to work can perhaps be redirected to serve a godly purpose...

(Isaiah 54:17) Any weapon whatever that will be formed against you will have no success

(2 Corinthians 13:8) For we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth

Readers might ask Which of the mindsets mentioned by James seems to describe the critics and which describes the defenders of Jehovah's Witnesses?

(James 3:14-17) If you have bitter jealousy and contentiousness in you hearts, do not be bragging and lying against the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is the earthly, animal, demonic. For where jealousy and contentiousness are, there disorder and every vile thing are. But the wisdom from above is first of all chaste, then peaceable, reasonable

(1 John 2:21) No lie originates with the truth

I have to counter answer Future Inc. This person quote scriptures and don't know the reason of what Jesus is saying. There are scriptures in the Bible that are linked and relate to each other even if its not together. It's the Holy Spirit that makes all things known to what that person should know. Future quotes Matthew 7: 21 - 23: Lord, Lord have I not prophesied in your name, drive out demon's in your name, perform miracles in your name. Jesus answer's them, "I never knew you. Away from me, you evil doers!"
Why does Jesus answer like that? Future left out an important scripture before that. Scripture: 20: Thus by their fruit you will recognize them.
What is the fruit that Jesus talks about? It's not apples and oranges. It's the fruit of LOVE.
1 Corinthians ch.13: all. And let me show you the most EXCELLENT way. It goes on to say "If I have the gift of tongues, the gift of prophesy, ALL knowledge, have faith that can move mountains, give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, BUT NOT HAVE LOVE, I GAIN NOTHING.
And now these three remains: Faith, hope, & Love. The greatest of these is Love.
Love is the fruit of the church, lack of love is why Jesus says "Get away from me you evil doers." The wolves in sheep clothing; the pretender's with sweet motives and sweet words are the worker's of evil because like a spider they will trap and then devour not only the flesh but the heart and soul.
Who so can why say is these evil doer's when all Christian's proclaim their faith and love in Jesus. As Jesus said, LOOK AT THE FRUIT. What overflows from the heart will flow out of that person: actions, words, integrity, compassion, etc., etc......

Jesus said to Pilate " “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”—JOHN 8:32..
“WHAT is truth?” When Pilate asked this question, his interest, such as it was, appeared to refer to truth in general. Jesus, on the other hand, had just said: “For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth.” (John 18:37, 38) Unlike Pilate, Jesus used the definite article and said “the truth.” He was referring to divine truth.
Therefore JW's, like Jesus always speak about the Same " Truth " that Jesus mentioned above.

nicely the comparable way that we've a private call and could desire to be noted as by way of our call instead of guy, woman, Boy & so forth is the comparable way that God feels. Psalms 80 3:18 says "might human beings understand which you, whose call is Jehovah,You on my own are the main extreme over all the earth." the certainty that his call is mentioned in the Bible shows God needs his call to be time-venerated & because we are his witnesses or followers, we are noted as Jehovah's Witnesses.

Because we don't use it in that way, we use the term "The Truth" as to the basis of what Christ taught, he brought Truth, and Accurate Knowledge to light regarding God, and how he wanted to be worshipped.

Jesus Christ said "Your word is truth" (John 17:17)

God through inspiration said it was his will that we come to an accurate knowledge of truth. (1 Timothy 2:3,4).

The reason we separate "The Truth" of God Inspired Writings from the philospohies of flawed men, the Bible informs us: It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step (Jer 10:23). Human philosophies are from flawed humans with limitations on insight, and ability. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Rom 3:23).

But if you really want to understand what the JW's believe then challenge your research skills, and ask for the free book "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" from www.watchtower.org

And though Michael Jackson was raised as a Jehovah's Witness does not mean he is actively pursuing his faith, nor does it mean he is in good standing with the Congregation. But it is not in my job description to judge anyone, my job is to spread the Good News of God's coming Kingdom.

Peace

I am not a member of the Jehovah witness but I could say that you do not know how to understand words which are not directly pointed to the main subject and you are ignorant about the teachings of the bible.

"the truth" which is in the bible is about the true existence of God, about the truth on spiritual being who created us and truth everything about religious belief.. It is not stupidity to tell the truth but it is stupidity to tell something which is not good to other christian religion. or to anybody else.
You just can afford to say those things because you know that you could not be identified because you are hiding your actual identity but while facing personally to the subject person, maybe you will be as timid as a little child who is still sucking a milk from his mother. Good luck to you on your way to maturity.

Yes, the term 'the truth' is considered the name the would associate with their religion. It is not meant to be rude, just that JW's believe their religion is 'the truth'. Just like Catholic people, Jewish people, Muslim people, and so on believe their religion is the truth.

2007-08-13 18:19:33 · answer #9 · answered by LadyCatherine 7 · 0 1

They use the term, the truth when it comes to following the Bible and worshipping God on his terms. So they refer to each other as being in the truth.

This is because Jesus came to earth to teach the truth about his father, Jehovah God.

Psalms 83:18
That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth.

1Tim 2:3-4
This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, whose will is that all sorts of men should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth

John 8:31-32
And so Jesus went on to say to the Jews that had believed him: “If YOU remain in my word, YOU are really my disciples, and YOU will know the truth, and the truth will set YOU free

Jesus clearly shows that many people who claim to be his followers are not. He calls them workers of lawlessness because they do not understand the truth of what Jesus has taught. So these false followers are doing things the way they want to, even though they claim to love God. Jesus wants nothing to do with them.

Mathew 7:21-23
“Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness.

Knowing the truth is the key to eternal life.

The only truth they know is some lie a man told his man made church a few years ago!
Their church is not based on Jesus Christ or His teachings.
Christ said to visit the sick & widows in the church, not go around making folks mad by telling them a bunch of hogwash & inviting them to join their circus!
They teach that there is no hell,God is gonna redo the earth,if you died with a limb missing,God won't give it back to you,& we get to teach Moses & the deciples how to use modern appliances!
Sorry! I will have a spiritual body,I will be in Jesus's presence,& I won't have any need for a toaster!
