I noticed a small hard bump (raised and colorless) under my arm last month and it has gotten larger. It is not that big but it is now about 1 cm and oval shaped. It doesn't hurt at all but friends have told me that it could be a swollen lymph node. They also suggested I look at breast cancer websites and look for other symptoms like changes in the breast and nipple, but there are no changes or lumps. What do you think this is and do you think it will go away by itself?

It could be a swollen lymph gland, caused by an infection.

It could be a cyst.

It could be a cancerous tumour.

Go to the Dr and get it checked.

If it is cancer, then early treatment gives the best results.

If it isn't cancer, then the Dr will be able to set your mind at rest.

It may not go away by itself. There are many things that cause lymph nodes to swell. Hopefully, this isn't something bad. I would not write it off though. In addition to breast cancer, Lymphoma needs to be ruled out. Are you having any other unusual symptoms? Please get this checked out, and don't ignore it. I was having all sorts of weird things [lump in throat, night sweats, itching, weight loss] but never put it together until I was diagnosed. Not saying that's what it is, just that you need to know for sure.
Best wishes

It depends if it is more on the surface or under the skin. I get bumps/abcesses often, and they can be big. They eventually will go away, if it doesn't hurt then chances are it is not infected. More of the same can be said about the lymph node symptom. If it doesn't hurt chances are it is innocent. Regardless you need to go to the doctor for a checkup. Good Luck
