I'm thinking the bone could have played a part in it, but it's very hard to say. I buy my poodle the flat rawhides, and he seems to do better with those than dingos and greenies. Hope your puppy is feeling better~

Dogs sure do love those dingos. As with any sort of rawhide, if they chew off too large a piece, it can cause problems. Rawhide doesn't digest easily and can stay in the stomach for long periods of time causing ulcers and discomfort. I'd maybe try some of the largest variety, but when they get down to a smaller size, take it away and discard. Gnawing at and chewing off small pieces should cause no problems, but I wouldn't make it an all the time thing. Get some other durable chew toys. They're not as tasty, but last long and still keep them occupied.

Why use raw hides and fake bones when the real things are readily available? A raw meaty bone will do a better job of cleaning your dogs' teeth than a rubber one. The meat acts like floss and the edible bones will scrape the teeth clean. Kongs etc are great entertainment but are not designed for teeth cleaning.
I have read of many cases of toys, greenies, cooked bones, raw hide etc causing obstructions but of only a few genuine raw bone cases. These are usually caused by a dog that is used to eating kibble gulping its food rather than chewing the bone. Did the vet give you any indication of what could have caused the problem?
The link has some good recommendations on the correct types of bone for feeding your dog.

There have been a lot of dogs who have gotten obstructions from those teeth cleaning bones;Greenies,Iams, etc.I suppose the Dingo bones could do it as well.I would stick to Nylabones,Kongs, stuffed with treats,or a great big raw beef bone (soup bone.) These are a lot safer and way less likely to cause an impaction.I know how Beagles love to chew,as I've been Mommy to two of the little buggers!

Dingo bones shouldn't be given to dogs. They can chip off and puncture there digestive track's lining. If your dog needs to chew, they have great puppy teething toys. Your dog may not be a puppy, or if they are, teething toys work well for dogs of all ages. A favorite treat of mine is the Kong. If you fill it with frozen meat(Skinless and Boneless Chicken and Turkey is the best) cheese, and peanut butter, it will serve as a great toy for her. If you fill it up with those, they will work on it for around 2 hours. A good teeth cleaner are frozen carrots. Cut them up, without the leaves, warsh all the pieces with warm water, and stick them in the freezer untill frozen. Dogs love carrots and this is a good, tasty treat for them, and they do wonders for the teeth and breath.
