Well first off, pray to God the Father or Jesus because they are both God. I pray by praying to God the Father and at the end saying "....in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. " and don't worry, what you need to do is trust in God and his will. If you believe in God's will nothing bad will happen, for he does not allow hardships to come that we can not handle. Right now your life might seem bad, but if you keep your faith and pray, your rewards for keeping your faith will be wonderful! So pray for God's will, keep your faith strong and live life in Christ!
*** Dont listen to those Fundamentalists who will say " It is becuase the catholic church is evil blah blah blah" or anyone who says bad stuff about our church or to those people who say prayer doesn't work becuase that will just bring doubt and make life even harder! stay strong in our church and in our faith***
I will Pray for you !
- Peace in Christ -

Not all prayers get answered, and some take time. Maybe it's not in God's will for your answer to be made true at that time or right away. As for losing weight, praying won't make the pounds melt off, you gotta do that yourself when you feel better about yourself. Change up your style a bit and try some new things, then watch what happens.

Be patient. Every prayer from a child of God is heard. Every pray is indeed answered, however, it's usually not the way which you suspected.
From what you've stated about your concerns in prayer it seems as if your more focused on yourself then on God. God wants ALL of us to be His and His alone. We need to change our own will into His will. Once you've established an intimate relationship with the Trinity then God will grant you the desires of your heart. As much as they line up to His Holy will. Pray for humility, patience, and to avoid evil and temptation.
If you already pray everyday anyway, pray the Rosary as well. The Rosary is a weapon in spiritual warfare and works wonders in your walk with Christ. Say also the Divine Mercy prayer. Basically, let God know that you put Him first in your life and all other things can wait.

God will always answer prayers. Perhaps u have closed urself off to His answers because they r not what u expect or want to hear.
I think maybe u r just being impatient. God is working and moving in ur life....be patient. It's like a father who can't fix a toy for his child because the child becomes impatient and keeps taking the toy out of the father's hands.
~Praying to God and to Jesus is the same. Tho I think some Christians here will tell u to make requests in Jesus' name.
Instead of praying to loose weight, ask that God give u the strength and will for u to take care of ur body. Pray for patience and believe that He will answer ur prayer.

I'm not a Catholic but I can share with you scriptures from the Catholic Bible to help you.
First of all, you must always pray in harmony with God's will. (1st John 5:14) The Lord's Prayer you recite regularly lets you know what that will is.
Matthew chapter 6 is where you'll find that prayer. The first thing that is important to God is that people know and worship Him.(John 4:24)
Jesus is saying the prayer and John 20:17 says that Jesus has a God and Father over him. So in the Lord's Prayer Jesus says "Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name."
If Jesus is speaking and it was his name why wouldn't he just say that. Obviously, God's name must be different. In Psalms 83:18 it tells us that Jesus' Fathers' name is Jehovah.
If your Bible doesn't say that look in the PREFACE of the Bible. It should tell you the translators took out the name Jehovah and replaced it with LORD.
Therefore, the Father's name that is to be hallowed, or sanctified, is Jehovah.
The next thing that you are to pray for is the Kingdom. What is this kingdom and why do we need to pray for it?
Another name for a kingdom is a government. So you are asking that God bring his government to rule over mankind and to make the earth like heaven. By means of this kingdom sickness, death, disasters, prejudices, wars, hunger, crime, etc. will be done away with. It's a righteous government with Jesus as King.
Then in the next part of the prayer you ask for sustenance and forgiveness, etc.
Notice Jesus' words at Matthew 7:21-23
"Not everyone saying to me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one DOING THE WILL OF MY FATHER who is in the heavens will.......(keep reading in your own copy of the Bible)
So I say to you: Study the Bible, apply what it says, pray diligently for understanding and you will have your prayers answered in the most pleasant way you would have never imagined!

I know you asked for someone who is a Roman Catholic, but I used to be one and my family still is so I know much of the Catholic insight.
Many will tell you to simply leave it in God's hands. That's only half true.
A lot of what is prayed for needs to be worked for. Many people pray and pray and expect good fortune to land in their laps. Then they wonder why nothing was done.
There is also the possibility of praying and TRYING too hard. Sometimes it's okay to let the worry go and while you are in your relaxed state God's plan falls more easily to your benefit.
Also, however, sometimes God's answer is "no." Quite often, God's plan just doesn't align with our schedule. Sometimes it seems that God's plan just plain sucks.
However, another thing you can pray for is something to the effect of, "Okay, it looks as if you have something different in mind. Please guide me and give me the wisdom to make things alright for me with your plan."

Instead of wasting all that time praying to a god thats not there. Jog around the block a couple times. Take a shower and go down to the local hang out and meet chics. Or hang out in your church more if the priests dont touch you church is a great place to find a wife you already have something in common. You will never find true love or lose weight praying and playing on the computer all day.

God answers every prayer, every time.
What you have to remember is there are three possible answers: Yes, No, and Not Yet.
Also remember, God will give us those things we need, but not necessarily those things we want. I hope you can see the difference.
Keep praying. Keep talking to God. And keep listening for his answers.
I almost forgot. If you follow the forms, you will notice that all the prayers are to the Father, through the Son. You should, I believe, model your prayers this way.
God be with you.

God is not going to fix your problems for you. God helps them that help themselves (if they at all can).
If you want someone to love, you can't find them at home (and although possible, not likely to find true love through a computer). You need to get out of your house, go somewhere that you are likely to meet your true love - your church - your friends church - sports events - community activities, the library, wherever.
If you want to loose weight - watch your portion sizes, drink LOTS and LOTS of water, and get out and exercise. Walk in the park (maybe you will meet a man), join weight watchers (maybe you will meet a man and motivate each other to loose weight).
Currently I don't have a job. God cannot help me find a job, if I don't put in applications for any jobs. Once I do that, then I can pray and the lord will show me the way.

How to pray:
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
What can hinder prayer
1 Peter 3:7
[ A Word to Husbands ] Husbands, likewise, dwell with them (wives) with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.
Is your will in alignment with God's will in your life?
If what you are praying for is not what God would have for you then you are praying out of His will.
