start off at somewhere between 1 to 2 miles if you are a beginner and 2.5 to 4 miles after that slowly increasing. if you are able to run it, then do that, if not then jog, if not then fast walking, etc. try for 3 to 4 times a week. this should help

fat loss= 80%diet and 20%exercise
you have to do cardio (running) 4-6 times a week for average of 45min (never go over 60min)
