The largest artery in the body is located just left of the midline in the abdomen. It is the abdominal aorta. Normally you should not feel anything (e.g. pulses) from it.
If you are feeling pulses in your abdomen this could be an indication of an aortic aneurysm (a weakening of the wall of the aorta). An aneurysm is a very dangerous condition because it can result in a sudden and fatal rupture.
It may be a good idea to see your doctor asap and get this situation evaluated.
I hope you do not have an aneurysm, but if you do, you and your doctor need to know about it.
Best wishes and good luck.

Actually, you can feel your pulse throughout your entire body. The larger the artery and the closer to the heart, the stronger the pulse. If you think on it, you will see that the pulse is actually the pressure wave from the compression of your heart which is transferred outward from your heart. In theory, if you had a sensitive enough instrument, you could detect your pulse in the smallest vessels in your extremities. Have you seen these little heart rate usits used to monitor exercise? This is how they detect your heart rate by simply "looking" at your finger to "watch" blood flow and it counts what it sees over time.

You can feel your pulse in lots of places. The large vessels that serve the lower trunk and legs all go through that area (most from the descending aorta), so it's not terribly odd that you should be able to feel your pulse there.

Arteries and Veins run throughout your entire body. Your pulse can be felt in many different places, all over your body. Don't worry, your normal.

There is one in the stomach area but rarely is noticed. Big ones are in the neck, wrists, inner thighs, temple of the head. Under significant stress you can feel your heartbeat throughout your body.
No worries.

It's your abdominal aorta and is completely normal! You can't feel your pulse in veins. You can feel your pulse in your neck, wrists and ankles (the last two are trickier to find)
